The Memphis CAC seeks a Prevention Director! The prevention director is responsible for all our child sexual abuse prevention activities throughout Shelby County, TN. The director leads a team of two full-time staff members and is a member of the CAC leadership team. The director is responsible for building relationships and partnerships with organizations to provide prevention training and resources. June is Internet Safety Month. What is your child's favorite online app? Does it have a chat function? Is your child talking or playing with strangers? The reported number of sextortion cases has increased dramatically--especially cases involving teenage boys. After gaining a child’s trust, a perpetrator gets him to send n**e or sexual images. The person then threatens to share the images unless the child provides more images, sexual activity, or money. Talk to your child about online safety. Ensure he knows he can come to you for help if someone tries this with him. June is Internet Safety Month. The Children's Youth Ministry at held a "Bears of Love" campaign. Together, they sold over 300 bears to give to the CAC kids. That's a lot of love! The team delivered the bears last week. Thank you!

CAC Deputy Director Lydia Crivens attended the National Children's Alliance leadership conference in Washington, DC this week. She, along with other Tennessee CAC leaders, met with our members of Congress as part of the conference.
