A huge sinkhole and a missing village.
Nestled amidst towering green peaks lies a geological marvel that has puzzled historians and scientists alike—a vast and verdant sinkhole, so colossal that it once harbored a flourishing village on its precipice. But this breathtaking natural wonder holds a darker tale: the entire village vanished, leaving behind a tapestry of enigma and a landscape that echoes with the stories of a bygone era.

Last weekend, these dedicated fundraisers worked hard to start raising money for their personal donations. We are excited to be able to share photos and videos from tomorrow's fundraising event, led by our youngest fundraisers yet! We hope their enthusiasm inspires you to organize a fundraising event for One Million Wells or another favorite charity.

Please help us congratulate our team in 🇮🇳 India on their 475th well drilled since March 2020! This well is at 64 feet. These are agricultural wells that will allow farmers to grow more crops as well as extra growing seasons so they can feed more people and have a better life themselves.

This team is looking for sponsors and has our drilling art down to a science. Please send us a message or email [email protected] for details.

As RC is training new teams in Kenya our teams in Uganda continue to drill. And our team in India just finished their 458th well at 75 feet deep yesterday! This team was trained in March 2020 and is looking for a sponsor, as are our Ugandan teams.

Whether you are searching for your Giving Tuesday or end of year tax deductible donation recipient, the perfect gift for someone who has everything, or just because you think everyone should have the same right to access clean water I can not think of a better gift than Water.

Drilling in Gulu with difficult layers on the way to the aquifer.

Photos from One Million Wells's post 05/04/2023

We received this picture and video** from one of our partners in Guatemala yesterday and ❤️ it!! Through OMW I58 hired a group of 10 men (2 teams of 5) that struggled to find employment, wearing the label of previous criminal and/or drug history. They were taught to drill water wells using our low-cost, innovative yet rudimentary method by our Director of Central American Operations, Harvey Falconer. Now the men have a skill, can earn an honest living with fair wages, and are being mentored by a wonderful group of Christian people! They are also getting to feel the feelings of the life-giving gift families have received because of their work and the gratitude from those families!

**This is the beginning of the drilling process. They dig out a J to hold water (brought in from somewhere off site) that will be used during the drilling process.

Today OMW was featured on the “Safe Drinking Water for All” episode of Otávio Hamdan’s, Water Station podcast (link 🔗 in comments). 🎙️🔊 Otávio is the German Chancellor Fellowship Programme for prospective leaders from Brazil at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The podcast is offered in English as well as his native language of Portuguese.
