CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!

SAT, JUNE 29 | 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM | DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS COMMISSION

In conjunction with the relaunch of UrbanPlan, ULI Memphis will be hosting an in-person New Volunteer Training.
What is UrbanPlan? UrbanPlan is a realistic, engaging exercise where participants - high school students, university students, or public officials - learn the fundamental forces that affect development in our communities. Participants experience challenging issues, private and public sector roles, complex trade-offs, and fundamental economics in play when proposing realistic land use solutions to vexing growth challenges.

What would I do as a volunteer? Trained volunteers serve in classrooms and workshops as facilitators or as members of a mock City Council for final presentations. They are tasked with challenging participants to think more critically about the UrbanPlan issues and the specific responsibilities of their roles.

As an UrbanPlan volunteer you will:

*Make an impact in the community + on the next generation of prospective planners
*Enjoy professional development + knowledge sharing
*Network with peers across the built environment

Training + volunteer time commitment includes:

*One-day new volunteer training session
*Minimum of one hour of volunteering time annually (Typically, the *commitment is two hours every quarter.)

ULI Memphis 2024 Annual Meeting w/Emerging Trends + Tommy Pacello Award | ULI Memphis 06/05/2024

We’re back at it again for the ULI Memphis 2024 Annual Meeting, featuring local Emerging Trends in Real Estate w/Adam Slovis (Slovis + Associates).

A consensus is growing in the commercial real estate community that the world we’re looking at now is the world we’ll be living in for a while. The worst of the COVID-19 pandemic has long passed. And we should no longer expect a sudden U-turn to the way things were in pre-pandemic times.

Join us for this thoughtful presentation and talk led by Adam Slovis (w/input from Billy Orgel | Tower Ventures) where we will explore how the past is no longer prologue and why we must revisit old assumptions about local market dynamics and risks.

This year's Tommy Pacello Award winner will also be announced at the event.

Advanced registration is required.

With a total commitment of $200 million by the City of Memphis to the initiative, funding priorities for Accelerate Memphis cover three key areas: Activating Memphis 3.0, Improving Our Parks, and Revitalizing Citywide Assets.

The improvements at Gaisman Park, in particular, represent a $11.5 million investment in a well-loved neighborhood greenspace, serving as early demonstration for the overall vision for the investment.
