The Jay Uiberall Foundation honors Memphis restaurateur Jay Uiberall by supporting causes dear to Jay’s heart.
Jay was a leader in the Beale Street business community and co-owned Automatic Slim’s, Alfred’s On Beale, and many others.
Our Jay Uiberall Foundation Pathway Workshops reflection video premiered last week at the 2024 Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR) Awards. MICR is one of our grantee organizations on a mission to close the opportunity gap, create a relentlessly supportive community and drive upward mobility in under-resourced communities across Memphis. We hope you enjoy the video made by MICR alums. For reference, the kids have nicknamed the program, 'JULS', short for Jay Uiberall Leadership Series.

Our Story
The Jay Uiberall Foundation (JUF) honors the legacy of Memphis restaurateur Jay Uiberall. Through support and partnership with several local industry and youth organizations, JUF supports causes near and dear to Jay’s heart, such as helping children, promoting Memphis and the downtown area, offering educational scholarships, and encouraging the values of mentoring and hard work.
As a grant–making organization, JUF seeks to partner with nonprofits in the Greater Memphis area that offer new and innovative programs that fulfill our vision but may lack financial resources. Typically, these programs demonstrate high potential to make a positive impact on the lives of our youth and our underserved, through mentoring scholarships, intervention, skills–building, critical-thinking development and more.
