KhalsaAid members Sanmeet Singh, Shivam, and Sharma have once again demonstrated their generosity by donating items from our wish list to our St Vincent de Paul Food Mission at the Ozanam Center. These donations will be utilized to provide day bags of food, hygiene kits, and t-shirts to those in need. We are grateful for KhalsaAid's continued support and commitment to our community.
3 kiddos from the excellence Memphis Tennis team served at our food mission today with their parents, sibling and grandparent. Tripp Wllis their coach not pictured here arranged volunteers for today. It was a great day. We made giant burritos and black beans. Neighbors enjoyed a big tasty pastry with their meal. We gave out two sandwiches to each person while they lasted and gave out all the fresh fruit. Guests enjoyed coffee and AC in the chapel.
These kids have been playing tennis at Leftwich since they were 4 years old. Even the little girl has been playing 3 years. The kids jumped right in to make this a great day in serving around 135 friends.
Good luck this morning to team SVDP at Church of the Resurrection at their ministry fair. Your booth looks great and we pray that interested parishioners will be interested in info you have to share. God bless all you do for those in need.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of working along side these fine young people from St. Benedict at Auburndale along with their leader Joseph Fenech and a couple of wonderful parents. They served 150+ neighbors a hot meal that they helped prepare. They helped serve coffee to those friends who came in the chapel to eat and rest. They did dishes, cleaned up inside and out and helped unload the regular Saturday Costco delivery from the Methodist Men’s Group. I hope to see them again soon as a group or individuals. What a blessing.

The choral group had a guest volunteer learn the Addams Family dance. He is on the far left. Bravo!!
St. Agnes young ladies spent their Day of Caring at our St Vincent de Paul Food Mission. The young men are regular volunteers that are elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is so comforting to see these young people. I could hear them greeting our neighbors and saying have a good day. So much conversation and laughter could be heard from everyone.

Our St. Vincent de Paul Food Mission will reopen Monday Jan 22, 2024 serving from 9:30 to 11. Guests will be invited into the chapel as soon as possible to get warm and recharge. The warming centers will probably be closing Monday during the day after doing an amazing job this week of protecting our vulnerable neighbors from the frigid weather conditions. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped at the warming centers and missions in different capacities. God Bless the community for coming together to help those that feel unseen.
Our St. Vincent de Paul food mission at 1306 Monroe is closed due to ice and snow. We will reopen as soon as possible We encourage our guests to stay safe and warm at the warming centers. We want our guests and neighbors to stay safe from slips or falls. Thank you to our wonderful warming centers and RITI participants for taking care of our vulnerable friends in need. Stay safe and warm Memphis. God bless.
Our prayer is that each and every one of you have a heart full of joy, love and peace through this Christmas season and that your love of Christ continues to grow and evolve. Amen
PLEASE NOTE I AM WITHDRAWING THIS REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS THIS SUNDAY. But thank you anyway. Sunday Dec 17. 1306 Monroe Avenue from 8:00 AM to 11 AM.
This past Saturday a third pre group from Resurrection Catholic Church volunteered at our food mission. Sandwiches were made and treats sorted to give to our neighbors as they entered the chapel to eat, rest and recharge. Other kiddos opened cans, buttered biscuits and cornbread from Barksdale Restaurant and help plate chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread and brownies for our hungry neighbors. And while this was going on other PRE kiddos were doing a mobile food pantry at their church. Amazing.
Here is our team of volunteers from Thanksgiving Day. They were amazing chopping, cutting, mixing, deboning, everyone setting timers for the food and making sure dishes were washed and everything wiped down before leaving. Our neighbors enjoyed the meal and hospitality from the volunteers. Yes we are Thankful.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul wishes you all a Happy Thanksgiving.
Church of the Resurrection PRE students volunteered again this month at our St, Vincent de Paul food mission. They made PB&J sandwiches and served those along with some milk and juice that was donated by St. Paul School. This was in addition to the hot meal that was served. Good job kiddos. Hope to see you in December.
This young lady Anita goes to Southwest and was here to get service hours. Folks she did all the pots and pans as well as cooked the mash potatoes. Most of our volunteers were from UT Medical school in their second year there. They collected a lot of t-shirts, hoodies and shoes for our clients. On the far left is Marcia who works at FedEx but volunteers with us regularly. Our guests love her and so do we. On far right is Abbas. Who volunteers almost daily and has come to my rescue more than once. He is in the process of opening his own medical practice. Oh and we served snow cones today😂😂.
is so very generous to the Memphis Community in supporting programs and good works. We were very fortunate to receive a very generous donation from them in Oct 2023 that will provide funding for so many weekly food bank orders and other supplies that are needed for daily operations in serving meals to those in need. We provide on average 63,000 meals yearly. We also want to thank all the ladies who volunteer on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Thank you and God Bless to the ladies of Madonna Circle.
