Action Alert: Stop MATA Service Cuts!

MATA will once again be voting on proposed service cuts scheduled to begin in February. Despite strong opposition at the last two MATA Board Meetings, the proposals are still on the table. MICAH, Memphis Bus Riders Union/Sindicato De Pasajeros, Citizens for Better Services, Sierra Club-Chickasaw Group, Central Labor Council of Memphis & West TN Group, Teamsters Local Union Number 667, and more than 250 petition signers stand in strong OPPOSITION to all proposed service cuts.

Join us in asking MATA Board to reconsider and refrain from approving ANY winter service cuts.

Here's how:
1. Sign the petition and share with others: https://bit.ly/47L9dTJ
2. Attend the MATA Board meeting on Dec 19th at 3:30 at One Commerce Square Auditorium

Let's get the WORD OUT that it's time to vote! 🗣

Early voting for the 2023 Shelby County Municipal Election begins THIS FRIDAY (9/15). In the previous Municipal Election, only 26% of eligible voters participated.

This MUST change if we want a safer and more equitable Memphis. Many who don't vote don't know an election is even happening. Voter canvassing is a great way to raise awareness! 👏

THIS Saturday, September 16th, starting at 9 am, we're canvassing the Raleigh neighborhood! If you'd like to join us, sign up at the link!📲

LETS VOTE TOGETHER! 🗳🤝

Next Monday, September 18th, we're hosting a community voting day! Because early voting allows Shelby County residents to vote at any polling center, we figured it'd be more fun for our MICAH community to go together. We’re planning a big celebration for the day, so stay tuned for those details soon to come. However,if you’re looking to ignite excitement before we go vote, you can connect on a variety of activities happening this weekend.

On Saturday, we will be knocking on doors and canvassing in Raleigh. Next on Sunday, there will be a Spanish Language Mayoral Forum at Salon Monarca. Then on Monday when we do go vote, we invite you to post yourselves on social media, tag us, and use the hashtag . We will also have a phone bank occurring during the day so you can encourage voters to come out and join us in voting together! 🤩

Let's show Memphis that WE are what the POWERFUL look like!
