Thank you for your inquiry regarding those who have lost food due to the storm. The Department of Human Services appreciates your thoughtful attention to the immediate needs of the people you serve.

Currently, all SNAP recipients have 10 calendar days from the incident to report their food loss in order to receive SNAP replacement benefits. More information and steps on how to apply can be found on the TDHS website regarding disaster related emergency assistance.

At this time, there are Federal disaster assessments ongoing but are not yet complete. We will stay in touch with TEMA on when they submit the Federal request and subsequent approval to ensure we are coordinating disaster SNAP accordingly for non-SNAP families.
