Last week our very own Ms. Katrina Schroeder was awarded the Distinguished Lutheran Early Childhood Teacher Award! 👏👏

The second picture is of the current students who have been taught and blessed by Katrina’s gift and love of teaching, not to mention the countless others over her career at Mt. Calvary. We are beyond blessed to have you Ms. Schroeder! 💛

Last week Mike Waugh was installed and then delivered a message as he sent off our 8th graders on their class trip! They traveled to Camp Michindoh in Hillsdale, Michigan for outdoor education fun and learning. They got an opportunity to do some awesome activities. Canoeing, rock wall climbing, teambuilding, learning about aquatic life, and even some square dancing!

Our very own Keith Wright was awarded the first ever MC Sweater, under a unanimous vote! 👏

Keith was awarded this because of his outstanding academics, his integrity, the way he exemplifies our Core Values, and his constant drive to be amazing everyday!

Math and literacy night was fun! Can’t wait to do it again!

K5 and 7th grade have buddied up this year for reading and some religion time together 📚 soon we’ll go on a field trip together to the zoo! 🐯🦁🐻🦍🐘🦘🦛

We’ve been having fun at MTC and are continuing to learn and grow!

A little rain never hurt anyone 🌧️ especially on field trip day to the water treatment plant! 5th grade enjoyed their time learning all about the purification process.

2nd grade experimented today! They are learning about the changes weathering and erosion have on rocks. Science rules!

Anna Mae Robertson visited us yesterday on her 100th birthday 🥳

She was a member of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion in WWII. & "The "Six Triple Eight" was the first and only all-female African American unit deployed overseas during WWII." - AVC

Not only did she visit, but she also brought family who helped tell her story, including her great grandson Elijah who is an 8th grader at MTC. He is very proud of her and loves to tell her story!

Elementary school celebrated 100 days of learning and growing! We can’t believe it’s already been 100 days, this year is flying by!

Time flies when you’re having fun!

Black History Month was a success! We learned and grew a lot this month, here are a few take aways:

4k had a special guest visit them this week! Mr. Howard came to talk with the kids about his career as a chef 👨🏽‍🍳

He even made some food with them 🍽️

K5 and 1st grade had a visitor from the zoo today!! They learned a lot about different animal groups and a lot of other cool things! We love the zoo, zooin’ it!

Dust to dust

Genesis 3:19 - "till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return."

Today we observed Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent in our church calendar. This is a time to meditate on the suffering that Christ endured for us.

The Law is heavy.

But the Gospel is strong.
