In one week, on December 6th at 4 PM, Santa will be at the Monroe-Walton County Library for a fun, festive story time!🎅 After the story, children may get a picture with Santa and light refreshments will be served (while supplies last). We can't wait to see you then!

The Monroe-Walton County Library will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th.

Wednesday, November 29th, we will have our Read to a Dog program from 4-5 PM. Drop in at any time during the hour and read to a licensed therapy dog. This program is great for kids at any reading level.

Spend this holiday week with a new book! We have some great new children's books and adult nonfiction ready to be checked out today. 🥰📚

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our fire safety class has been moved to Monday, November 20th at 3 PM. We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to see you tonight for our take-home craft kits and glowsticks from 5-7 PM (while supplies last).

We are excited to announce we will host a Food for Fines Campaign from November 15th-December 15th here at the Monroe-Walton County Library. All food donations will benefit the Monroe Community Garden & Pantry located in the library. We will be offering a $1 of late fines forgiveness for each donated canned or boxed food (maximum of $10). For more details, please give us a call or stop by the library.

Who's ready for the Bikes, Trikes and Magical Lights Parade at Childers Park in Downtown Monroe? The parade will be on Thursday, November 16th at 6 PM and we will have take-home craft kits and glow sticks available inside the Monroe-Walton County Library from 5-7 PM (while supplies last). We can't wait to help you light up the night!

Halloween is right around the corner and we will be hosting our annual Book or Treat this year! Every child and teen who visits the Monroe-Walton County Library in a Halloween costume from October 28th-31st will receive a free book. We can't wait to see all your amazing costumes! 🎃

We welcome you to come in to the Monroe-Walton County Library to experience the exhibit "Georgia’s Response to the Holocaust: Survivors and Liberators" on display now from Georgia Commission on the Holocaust. In partnership with Georgia Library Association, banner exhibits from the Commission are touring public libraries statewide.

Georgia’s Response is a an exhibit series that examines the stories of courage of Holocaust survivors and liberators who were or became Georgia citizens.

The exhibit is on display until October 23, 2023
