The Nanuet Fire Department’s ongoing recruitment campaign is an enormous success. We have accepted eighteen (18) new members into our department since January, which is a significant achievement for our organization, and it is wonderful to see such a diverse group of individuals joining our ranks.

Our members attended community events, visited local schools, held an open house, placed lawn signs throughout the area we serve, and posted on our web site and social media pages the need for volunteers so we can continue to provide prompt fire and emergency services to our residents.

We welcome the following new members: Mark Abrahms, David Berkovitch, Zach Bierker, Gregg Bodin, Paul Calle, Cole Casscles, Cedric Charaix, Katherine Chavez-Santos, Eric Chen, Katie Dollinger, Valerie Dutan-Guartan, Swapna George, Michael Heffernan, Aaron Martinez, Kaiden Porter, Jaipaul Randat III, and Ryan Sperring. In September, Hollis Brizan will join our ranks after serving in the US Air Force.

We welcome them as members of the Nanuet Fire Department and wish them well on their journey as one of Nanuet’s Bravest. They will surely be a valuable asset to our team.

The Nanuet Fire Department participated in the Ossining Fire Department Parade tonight and came home with the Best Appearing Company or Department Out of County Trophy Sponsored by Donald J. Trump. Congratulations to all the members who participated. Well deserved!!

It is with deep regret that The Nanuet Fire Engine Co. #1 and The Nanuet Ladies Auxiliary announce the passing of Ladies Auxiliary life member and past President Lisa Jacobson.

Lisa was the mother of Ex-Chief David Jacobson and Ladies Auxiliary past President Tara Jacobson, and the wife of late life member Richard Jacobson.

The arrangements are as follows:

Wake services on Sunday 7/28/2024 from 3 - 7pm @ Higgins Funeral Home in New City with firematic services at 6pm.

Monday 7/29/2024 starting at 11:15am there will be a funeral mass at St. Aedan's Church in Pearl River with burial to follow at St. Anthonys Cemetery.

Please keep the Jacobson family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate these difficult times.
