A detachment of Starchasers visited SCUL Prime for an exciting Alphamission adventure!

We had such an amazing turnout for last nights info session! We met some great folks who seem like they’re going to fit right in and make stellar new recruits! If you’re interested in learning more about how to become a Starchaser but couldn’t make it out last night, send us a message and stay tuned for more recruitment nights.

We had a great time at last nights Game Changers event! Lots of deep conversation and exploring ways to use our strengths to transform ourselves to better support our community and cooperatively build a better tomorrow. We love how this event is different each time by allowing all participants to set the tone for the evening.

Co-Creative Center New Bedford

We had so much fun at our inaugural installment of Starchasers Cinema Club! We discussed “Explorers” (1985) directed by Joe Dante and starring Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, and Jason Presson. FTL Starfire provided sonic disruption.

These are challenging, often scary, and overwhelming times. There are so many people experiencing pain and loss in the world. As I write this, I think of the people of Gaza and I think of Nex Benedict in Oklahoma. With so much pain, sometimes it feels inappropriate to even smile, but in these dark times it might be one of the most important and effective things we can do.

For over a decade, the Starchasers have patrolled your skies, hosting community bike rides, collecting and delivering food and supplies to people in need, marching in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, organizing to hold space for the LGBTQ+ community, and facing off against n***s at drag story hour, and through all of that we maintain our core mission - to always bust the funk.

That may seem like playful silly nonsense and it is, but play is what we do. We strive to be the best and most complete versions of ourselves by facilitating moments of joyful exuberance. Moments that don’t distract but brings relief. We didn’t fight those n***s, we danced in spite of them and inspired others to dance. Violence only leads to more violence but joy can heal hearts, inspire minds, and unite the masses. Joy in the face of adversity can fuel true rebellion.

There are forces in this world that want to silence and suppress that kind of joy. One of the best ways to counter this is to continue being true to yourself, expressing joy, sharing with others that which brings you joy, and learning that which brings others joy.

So, be you. Be the most you that you can be. Be you so much that you become a shining beacon of you-ness. You’ll attract others with your light, learn from each other, build community, organize, and together you’ll be unstoppable.

And if not, please remember that you’re always welcome to dance and play with the Starchasers.

Fort reconstruction is upon us once again as we get our house in order in preparation for the new season!

'An identified safe space': South Coast LGBTQ+ Network opens office in downtown Taunton The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network decided to open a third office location in downtown Taunton.

Man biking 3,000 miles along East Coast Greenway to celebrate 50+ years of Hip-Hop Cyclist and Music Artist Anson Frazier of Boston made a stop in Greensboro to ride the Downtown Greenway.

Join us next Thursday, March 7 for Starchasers Cinema Club, a film discussion series primarily exploring bicycles in popular culture. Doors open at 6:30PM. Film starts at 7:00PM followed by conversation.

This month’s mystery selection is about kids on bikes dreaming about space travel in 1985. Attendees get to vote on the next film we watch.

This 18+ event is open to the public, cosmically inclusive, and for anyone who enjoys movies and talking about them with friends.
