Let our campuses be canvases where diversity paints a picture of unity, erasing the stains of racism. In the halls of learning, let equality be our greatest lesson.” - Dr. Thandeka Mazibuko
The systematic failure to hire within oncology centers is a critical issue. Recruiting, not rejecting, black excellence is imperative for a truly inclusive and equitable healthcare system. It’s time to dismantle implicit biases and embrace diversity. by Dr. Thandeka Mazibuko
"Every , no matter where she lives, deserves the opportunity to develop the promise inside of her." - Michelle Obama 🌟✨
Reflecting back on my time at Siyajabula High School, I never imagined I would be where I am today. 🏫🎓
Lesson learned: It's crucial to invest in young girls, even if they come from impoverished backgrounds , forced in marriage , abused or walk barefooted.
We must embrace, mentor, and uplift them. In Africa, society often undervalues the girl child, assuming she will only end up getting married or forced into marriage. Investing in a girl is seen as a waste of money, assuming she will become pregnant and drop out of school. But I firmly believe in investing in a girl child because you never know who she will become in the future. We must invest in all children. 💪💼💡
Let's not undermine our colleagues based on their backgrounds. Let's not miss the opportunity to nurture someone who is determined to succeed because they will indeed succeed, with or without our help. We may later regret not offering them support when they needed it the most. 🤝🌟

Big news folks!
The Challenging Wrongful Convictions Act passed the Assembly today on a 90-55 (unofficial) vote bringing us one solid step closer to making this bill into law. Huge shout out to everyone who has fought for this bill through the years.
The picture above is Assembly member Jeff Aubry debating the bill on the floor.
Now our attention focuses exclusively on the Senate, where we have 29 co-sponsors and one "I support it but I'm not a co-sponsor" in Jessica Scarcella-Spanton from Staten Island. Our goal is to get to 32 which will be a majority of members in the house.
Join us for advocacy for communuties living with mental illness against police brutality. Police should not respond to metal health crisis.
Under Daniel's Law, the state will only fund emergency response plans where the role of law enforcement is limited to situations where there's a public safety risk so that police are no longer the default first responders to health emergencies.
