- How does excitement differ from joy?

✨ What if authentic joy that comes from your heart is the force of attraction that heals and manifests your desires?

Before you ask this question, take a moment to really connect to your breath and then go to the deepest place in your heart that you know.

Beyond all superficial and fleeting desires, influences of others and culture, what does your heart truly want?

It may not be easy and the answer/s may not come the first time you do it. Or you may get flooded with vivid images. You won't know until you try...

In East Asian Medicine, all dis-ease leads to the heart and our unwillingness or inability to listen to its true desires. Heart is residence of Shen - the spirit. As a matter of fact, the Chinese character for heart is often translated as "heart-mind" in acupuncture texts.

This week we just couldn't but ask you to reflect on your ability to see beyond the obvious outward differences. Can you easily find similarities and common threads that lie deeper once you look into whatever it is, in this case, 2 blockbuster films?

Can you see beyond gender, race, political affiliation, religion, human form and feel unity with others and your environment?

Interestingly enough, according to the mighty Wikipedia, the phenomenon began as a joke about the two films' seemingly endless differences, some media commentators have pointed out some similarities between them; both films have been analyzed as exploring existentialism and the theoretical notion of the Anthropocene, both have an Oscar-nominated director and screenwriter and a large ensemble cast, and both were produced by a husband-and-wife production company.

This week we invite you to ponder on the nature of life as it comes to paradox. Can 2 completely opposing ideas/realities/beliefs be true at the same time?

Is the negative current more true or better than the positive? Or do we need both to have electricity?

What if what helps one person destroys another? What if we need opposites to contribute to a solution of any problem? What if we can feel loss and joy at the same time?

What if embracing the idea of paradox is the key to creating a more harmonious society?

As the world-renowned researcher Brené Brown points out in Dare to Lead, leaders who embrace paradox create thriving work environments & cultures, that reflect our (Divine) nature.

Just think for a moment, what's the opposite of that? The belief that there is black and white, right and wrong, 2 sides with nothing in between..? Where does this belief lead us?

Maybe oversimplification of everything doesn't serve us and we can just accept paradox for now...

As another challenging year is nearing a close we have created a support group for women healing from unhealthy relationships. It's incredibly important to not feel alone and to have the support and examples of others who have gone through a similar journey and have made it to the other side to a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.
