Students in Action! Ahmed’s class was out in the field this week, conducting biodiversity surveys as part of their ecology chapter activities! 📊 They were identifying both biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) factors in the environment, learning how ecosystems work and the role different elements play in maintaining balance. 🌱🌞
Engaging young minds in chemistry! Ahmed’s high school chemistry class is hard at work creating wall posters to visually explain the difference between mass and atomic number. It’s amazing to see their teamwork and creativity in action as they dive deeper into the world of atoms. ⚛️

Last week, our Lower School students had a fun-filled day at Green Meadows Farm in Brooklyn! 🚜 They picked pumpkins, fed farm animals, and even enjoyed a hayride. The kids had a blast learning about the animals, experiencing farm life, and connecting with nature. 🐄 🐖 🐐
It was a perfect autumn day full of hands-on learning, and everyone left with big smiles and their very own pumpkins. A huge thank you to for an unforgettable trip! 🍁
Last week, our Morningside students had an incredible day exploring the National Museum of the American Indian! 🏛️ They delved into Native American history, culture, and art, making connections to their classroom studies. From examining traditional artifacts to learning about indigenous storytelling, it was an eye-opening experience for everyone.
The students were fully engaged as they explored the rich history and diverse traditions of Native peoples, gaining new perspectives and a deeper understanding of this important part of American heritage. A big thank you to the museum staff for guiding us through such an enriching journey! 🙌
Lang’s Upper School English Language Arts students recently took a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, chaperoned by Greig, Jimmy, and Tucker. We linked our study of ancient Greece, particularly Plato’s Apologyand The Trial and Death of Socrates, with a visit to the museum’s Greek and Roman wing. There, students examined objects from classical Greece and earlier, exploring how the Greeks told stories through art. They closely a**lyzed the details in the artworks, making text-to-object connections. We also made a powerful text-to-text connection by linking Socrates’ life and ideas to “The Death of Socrates” by Jacques-Louis David, located in the European Paintings wing. Our group gathered for a photo in front of this iconic painting. The trip was both fun and educational, reinforcing classroom concepts in an engaging, hands-on way. We’re especially grateful to the metmuseum for providing two expert docents, Teddy and Rosalie, from their renowned educational department, who helped make the experience even more enriching for our students.
Today, we had the honor of welcoming Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education Leadership delegation. Coordinated with the Qatar Cultural Attaché Office connected to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington, DC, this visit provided a unique opportunity to showcase our innovative approach to twice-exceptional (2e) education.
The delegation traveled from Qatar to learn about Lang’s methods and philosophies, and it was a wonderful chance to share our insights and experiences. We hope this visit marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership as they design 2e programs for students in Qatar.
We look forward to future collaborations that will benefit our students and contribute to the global conversation on education!
