“Day 3 of our CAMINO DE SANTIAGO for Hope Lodge Hope Lodge NYC!! The day was absolutely challenging and the terrain was tough and long…but we all ROCKED IT! From Laza to Ourense. And we have raised over $75,000 for Hope Lodge NYC.
Today and everyday I walk for my brother Peter left us too soon. And today I dedicated the day to the strongest woman I know…my mother Nancy. She always encourage us all to travel the world, be adventurous, and always be kind!

Camino de Santiago...we are coming for you again!!!
On August 31st, 2024, I will be heading to back to Spain for another 10 day hike covering 110+ miles of the El Camino de Santiago with the American Cancer Society DetermiNation team. New year, new route!. We will be hiking the incredible Salamanca to Santiago. Last years journey was life changing for myself and the team....so we need to do it again.
ALL DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE HOPE LODGE NYC!!!! Our goal is $65,000...but I know we can bring in much more!
I am walking in honor, support, and in memory of all that have walked through the doors of the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge NYC.
And of course, I am walking in memory and honor of all of those who have been touched by cancer, both patients and caregivers. YOU are the true heroes that walk this earth!
As most of you know, I'm the Senior Director for the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge NYC. The Hope Lodge provides free lodging for patients that have to come to NYC for cancer treatment. Since opening in 2007, we have provided free lodging for over 30,000 patients from all 50 states and 70 countries. So far we have saved patients from almost $100 million in hotel costs. But we have so many other missions too.
If you are able to make a donation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thoughts, prayers, and support are loved also!
Thank you all for whatever you can give!!
All the funds raised will support the Hope Lodge NYC!

Special thanks to Barasch and McGarry law firm for the renovation of the Hope Lodge NYC kitchen on the 9th floor. Their generosity enables guests to cook their own healthy food, while enjoying the company of other Lodge guests. Hope Lodge Communities offer a free home away from home for people facing cancer and their caregivers when cancer treatment is far away. Learn more at cancer.org/hopelodge.
A huge helping of gratitude to our friends and Citi volunteers for planning, preparing, serving, and hosting a most delicious dinner for our Hope Lodge guests in New York City recently. What a difference evenings like this make to people facing cancer who have had to travel far from home for treatment!
Reece Oslinker's journey with multiple myeloma was unexpected, leading him and his wife Sabrina to travel 90+ miles for treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During uncertainty, Hope Lodge became their refuge—a place where kindness, community, and shared struggles transformed strangers into a family.
Reese is back home recovering and gaining strength every day. The couple will return to Hope Lodge for follow-up in coming months.
Help provide hope for the holidays. To donate, volunteer, or gift needed supplies visit cancer.org/hopelodgeNewYorkGive
This year 1,070 guests stayed at Hope Lodge NYC, which provided them with 25,170 nights of lodging, saving families more than $4,782,300.
Honor someone you love with a donation. Your gift provides direct support to cancer patients, relieving the emotional and financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Two of the largest barriers faced by cancer patients are transportation and lodging.
Since some procedures make it impossible for patients to drive, they must rely on others to fulfill their transportation needs. For patients who need to travel to another city or state to receive the best possible care, lodging for them and their caregivers becomes a major obstacle to receiving quality care.
The American Cancer Society is investing $455K in the form of grants to 29 institutions throughout New York and New Jersey to address these barriers as we work to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.

Today, all of us here at the American Cancer Society pause to remember those whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001. We also take a moment to pay tribute to the families of all who were impacted as we recognize the brave first responders who were first on the scene to render assistance.
