After Decades, Tenants Are Still Fighting NYC Public Housing for Speedy Mold Relief 10/02/2023

Please see a piece by NRDC outlining the work that leaders from MT, South Bronx Churches Sbc, East Brooklyn Congregations, and the rest of METRO IAF NY have done over the last decade+ to get the New York City Housing Authority to begin to tackle mold and leaks properly.

Tenant, clergy and community leaders have worked with allies like NRDC, Proskauer, and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice to help court appointed oversight experts (like ombnyc.com) to bring real repairs to tens of thousands of families. Most tenants are still suffering, but the progress that has been made proves more is possible.

Thanks also to Phillip Norman for helping to produce the oral history of this campaign that can be found here.
