💯Our POWers Interns (Peer Orientation Workers) have been hard at work since February! They are a critical part of HMI's daily operations, setting up Astor Lounge, helping new members, assisting at our Community Meeting, helping with dinner, greeting members and visitors, and helping to create social media content including a Mental Health Campaign. Please give our POWers interns Will, Cindy, Ivy, Reivyn, and Ames (from left to right) a round of applause for all their hard work!

POWers is one of HMI's paid internships where members gain different life skills including interpersonal and communication skills as well as work experience. Please check our bulletin for updates on internships accepting applications (link in bio).

International Drag Day is celebrated annually on July 16th. Started in 2009, today we celebrate the creativity and diversity that drag queens and kings bring to the LGBTQ+ community and to the world!

💖Our first annual Joyce Hunter Awards was a decadent dessert celebration to match the sweetness of our volunteers who partner with us weekly on our Youth Services Programs. Named for the gay rights pioneer who helped form Hetrick-Martin Institute 45 years ago, as well as Harvey Milk H.S. and who continues to serve the LGBTQIA+ community to this day! Our Volunteers make it all possible, enhance our programming and bring renewed energy into our space. HMIYouth, and staff came to celebrate their contributions while partaking in some sweets! 🧁🍰🍬😋

🫶🏾 HMIYouth members enjoyed one-on-one time with Kim, took selfies, shared hugs and laughs, and all attendees were gifted a beautiful shade of Viva Glam lipstick! A huge THANK YOU to M.A.C. for their ongoing support of our youth and to Kim Petras for taking the time to meet each and every one of our starstruck youth and staff members! 🤩🤩🤩
