It is with heavy hearts that we come together today to remember and honor the life of a beloved volunteer of People In Need - PIN., Karl Wenninger whose sudden demise last week has shocked us beyond measure. Karl was one of the most dedicated volunteer and supporter at People In Need - PIN events. His patience, kindness and hard work has touched our heart.
Whether it was lending a helping hand at our food distributions, offering words of encouragement to those in need, or simply sharing a smile that could brighten even the darkest days, he embodied the true spirit of service and compassion.
We all have so much to learn from him and the beautiful life he lived.
Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting the memorial service for Karl Wenninger at JALSA, a remarkable soul whose kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Rest in peace, Karl Wenninger (1968-2024). Your memory will always be a blessing, and your legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at People In Need - PIN 3rd annual Unity Iftaar Night! β¨

Williams, NYC Council Member Shahana Hanif for City Council Deputy Public Advocate Kashif Hussain For Progress,l, Zunera Ahmed from State Senator Iwen Chu's office, Human Rights Ambassador Sima Karetnaya, and community members, and refugees from Floyd Bennett Field for their presence and support.

Also, a special thanks to JALSA and team members for donating space and food for the event.
This morning, I had the privilege of attending the New York City Council Speaker Adrienne E. Adams 2024 State of the City Address event on behalf of People In Need - PIN, and I am moved by the impactful words shared by NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams. A special shoutout to Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala, whose inspiring journey moved me deeply, evoking tears as I empathized with the challenges experienced by single mothers.
I am honored to have been in attendance today.
With deepest appreciation
Nowshin Ali
