I have some spots open in my "Dealing with the Past, Staying in the Present" groups. If you identify as someone with CPTSD or more generally as someone in recovery from early trauma and/or neglect, one of these groups may be right for you.
There is a coed group for adults 30 and up that meets on Thursdays, from 7-8:30 pm and a group for women (LGBTIA+ welcome) that will meet on Tuesdays from 7-8:30 pm. The women's group has a special focus in that immigration is an issue for all of the participants. This means that in addition to addressing general issues of mental health and recovery, we will focus on the unique challenges that arise from being a 1st or 2nd generation immigrants, from being bicultural, bilingual and/or having family both here and abroad.
For more information, go to my website: wwww.therighthelp.com. A free screening interview is necessary before joining either of these groups and an initial commitment of 3 months is required.
As Memorial Day approaches, don't be surprised if honoring our lost soldiers doesn't bring up feelings of sadness about other losses as well. It's good to take time for those feelings: to cry, to rage...Please pay tribute to those who make sacrifices while the rest of us live a (relatively) comfortable life AND please take care of yourselves on this important holiday.
A new group for women recovering from early trauma whose background includes family or individual immigration to the U.S. is in the forming stages. For more information, go to:
http://www.therighthelp.com/group-dealing-with-the-past-staying-in-the-present-a-group-for-adult-survivors-of-early-trauma.html
We will meet weekly on Mondays from 7:30-9 pm. (Due to the recent Omnicrom surge, we will meet via Zoom; if conditions become safe enough for in-person meetings, we may begin meeting in Manhattan.)
There are still a couple of openings, so please reach out if you are interested and schedule your free interview with Susan to explore whether this is the right help for you. For more information, see
