Celebrating a remarkable summer with the Urban Leadership Fellows Program, in partnership with the Municipal Forum of New York! Thirty exceptional young people immersed themselves in internships at municipal finance firms, gaining invaluable experience and making a significant impact in NYC’s public finance sector.

Beyond their internships, they thrived through one-on-one mentorship, engaging workshops, and enriching events—from Excel training, business writing, and Bond School to DEI in the workplace and public speaking. It was a summer of growth, discovery, and opportunity.

We had a fantastic time celebrating our summer interns at our Closing Ceremony at Brown Brothers Harriman! Interns, supervisors, staff, and Board and Junior Board members gathered for a wonderful evening in honor of the 200+ interns who worked for more than 100 organizations across the City this summer. Apollo Global Management hosted a group of our students for an action-packed “Changemakers Week,” which was a fantastic learning experience and career development opportunity. Thank you to Apollo Global Management, the Apollo Opportunity Foundation, and everybody involved in planning and coordinating this experience, especially Futures and Options Board Member Jason Scheir and Advisory Council Member Catherine Mullarney!

Renee Cai is an intern at TD Securities on the Public Finance team, learning a lot this summer from shadowing her colleagues. Great job, Renee!

Gary is a rising high school senior at Energy Tech High School who is assisting our Development team and learning about philanthropy in our Philanthropy in Practice summer program. We had a great time at our Alumni Social hosted by our Junior Board—it was amazing to see so many of our alumni join to connect with each other and meet Junior Board members!

Macquarie Group welcomed our students for an informative Career Exploration field trip in June. Participants heard from a panel of Macquarie Group employees sharing their career paths and advice, which was followed by a Q&A and networking session.

We're thrilled to partner with Macquarie Group to offer this invaluable learning experience for our students. Thank you to Futures and Options Board Member Lisa Grushkin and the Macquarie Group volunteers for hosting our students!

We celebrated the completion of another year of the Alumni Mentorship Program with a closing ceremony for mentors and mentees to reflect and connect. Thank you to all of the alumni and Junior Board members that participated in the program this year and made it such a success!

This summer, we are thrilled to kick off the pilot of our Alumni Internship Program for college freshmen and sophomores! Ten of our alumni are interning at a range of organizations including Paul Hastings, Cipher Mining, Guy Carpenter, and AreaProbe. We developed this program to help our college alumni build their professional networks and become competitive candidates for future internships that serve as pipelines to full-time employment.

It's the last day of school and we're excited for summer internships to start!

Last fall, Gio Yanez, a junior at the High School of Telecommunication Arts & Technology, launched his professional journey as a communications intern at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. The internship was an invaluable learning opportunity for Gio. He gained hands-on experience working on the website and social media platforms, and he developed soft skills essential to the workplace, including verbal and email communication. Gio also made connections that expanded his professional network.
