“While I know healthy food can be delicious, I found it difficult to find clean, sustainable and delicious probiotic foods at local retail shops. I wanted to help convince everyone that probiotic foods are for everyone, so we started making America’s favorite condiments. Our Ranch Dressing and Allium Aioli are two of our best selling products!” - Samantha Paone

Collective Cultures of Golden State Pickle Works makes fermented and probiotic salad dressings, condiments and vegetables. Using the seasonal bounty of Northern California, they contribute to the conversation of what American food is while doing everything they can to responsibly sustain an ecological and sustainable healthy earth. Find them at the Temescal Farmers’ Market, every Sunday from 9am to 1pm!

Whip out that face mask or bandana—Alameda County is requiring a face covering when in public settings, including farmers’ markets.

Starting this week, Alameda County is requiring face coverings in public settings to prevent the spread of COVID-19. To keep your market experience safe, shoppers, vendors, and our staff must wear a mask or face covering while at our Alameda County market locations. We highly recommend that anyone attending our markets in Santa Clara County do the same! Thank you for your continued support and cooperation! We're all in this together. For all of the latest market updates, check out our website. 📷: .rice.photo

At our markets this weekend we are welcoming customers who are high-risk or 55 and older to shop the first hour we are open, from 9am to 10am. If you are younger and healthy, please refrain from attending markets until after 10am to give our more vulnerable community members some time to shop and to help spread out arrival times. We’re all in this together!

Some new shopping habits for our Temescal customers to keep in mind this weekend. Check out this post! 🍓

A HUGE thank you to everyone for doing a great job adjusting to our first week of Social Distancing at markets. We’ve received an enormous amount of emails and messages from customers giving praise and gratitude, and with suggestions for improvement. We are listening to you and we have learned from on-site experience so we can do even better this weekend. We want to reassure you that food supplies at our markets are ample and spreading out customer arrival times will help tremendously. With your cooperation we can achieve great things. Some shopping tips below! 👇⁣

🍎 We are encouraging our senior and high-risk shoppers to come to the market early, from 9am to 10am. If you are young and healthy, please refrain from attending markets until after 10am to give our more vulnerable community members some time to shop.⁣

🍊 Keep 6 feet apart from other shoppers!⁣

🍋 Limit your visit to 30 minutes or less and leave family at home.⁣

🥑 Shop with your eyes first and then buy what you touch. ⁣

🥬 Wash your fruits and veg thoroughly at home.⁣

🍠 Some of our larger and more popular farms will be moved to the edge of the market so their lines can spill out on to the sidewalks, rather than market aisles. If the line reaches its designated maximum length (marked by a line), please visit another booth until that line shortens.⁣

🍓Lastly, be patient, be kind, and if someone asks for more space please be respectful. Thank you for your support! ⁣

We are open!

There has been an Order by the Public Health Officers in 7 Bay Area Counties that explicitly lists farmers' markets as essential public activities equal with grocery stores. All of our farmers' markets, with the exception of Campbell, will remain open for your essential food needs. The City of Campbell has ordered us to close our Sunday Campbell Farmers’ Market until further notice.⁣

As we continue to take additional steps to protect our community, we take your health and safety very seriously, and are adjusting our operations as needed. To get the latest updates, go to www.uvfm.org

Thank you for supporting our local farmers and makers and stay healthy!

The Temescal Farmers' Market WILL be open tomorrow. Check out the post below for more details. Stay healthy!

Urban Village Farmers' Markets will be open for business this weekend. Our markets provide access to fresh, nutritious, immune-boosting food which is always important and even more so now.⁣

These markets also offer year-round economic opportunity to hundreds of California farmers and local food businesses. UVFM will continue to provide these venues for our vendors until we receive formal notice from qualified health officials from State and County public health agencies to close.⁣

As an organization based in community connection, our top priority is the health and wellness of market shoppers, vendors, and our staff. Please use protective measures suggested by the CDC while attending our markets. If you have flu-like symptoms or if you are at higher risk for severe illness, we recommend you do not attend the markets.⁣

Health and safety is important to us. Please know that the farmers and small food businesses in your area are continuing best practices.
