Although CASP has passed, we would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication these amazing CSP folks have done. It is amazing to see our Chapman CSP community coming together and contributing to the field of school psychology. This year we had second and third year students, faculty members, and alumni presenting their amazing work through posters and presentations!! Congratulations to our school psychology and school counseling students for presenting at CASC today! As school psychologists and school counselors, it is so important to collaborate and work together. These students showed just how powerful and important those skills are through their presentation on “Exploring the Intersection of Gender-Diversity and Neurodiversity”. 🏳️‍🌈♾🧠

Who says weekend classes can’t be fun! Best Practices with Dr. Carriere, (plus Pajamas, Pancakes, and Pizza) was a blast! 🤓🥞🍕

SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH‼️Here are some amazing outside resources for students and any other individuals who may need mental health services and supports. Mental health matters every day, but this month offers us a great opportunity to shed light, share resources, and support those who are struggling with thoughts of su***de. This is a great time to educate students and staff on warning signs and early intervention and prevention strategies/resources that are available! What are your practicum/internship sites doing to participate in su***de prevention month?? Comment down below or send us a message if you would like to share!

The event will be held on Saturday, August 6th, 2022, at Golden Road Brewing Anaheim (2210 E. Orangewood Ave. Anaheim, CA), from 2-4pm. This will be a great opportunity for you to catch up with friends and meet the incoming first-year students. Everyone is welcome, feel free to bring a friend (this also includes our amazing alumni!!) 🌞 we’re excited to see you all there !

Oftentimes we associate the month of February with holidays like Valentine’s Day, we get excited for the work days we have off throughout the month, and we forget to acknowledge that February is also a month to educate ourselves and others about the importance of understanding the many reasons in which this month is so important. Take a look at these resources. Educate yourself. Act as the social agents of change that we ALL are. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

OCASP's annual student workshop will return this year, virtually, on Friday February 4th. All SP students are welcome to join for free if you are an OCASP member or for $15.

School psychologists and directors from Orange County districts will review tips for resumes, interviews, etc. to prep students entering the field.

This is perfect timing for first year students applying to practicum sites, practicum students applying to intern sites, and intern students applying to jobs! Please find more information about registration in this flyer!

To kick off the new year, Dr. Branstetter joined us and presented her workshop, “The Science of Happiness for School Psychologists”! Thank you, Dr. Branstetter, for speaking to us and sharing your expertise and practical strategies for students, school psychologists, supervisors, and professors.
Fun fact & Pro Tip: Dr. Branstetter taught us that the surrounding plants and environment do not grow when walnuts are planted. However, when marigolds are produced, the surrounding plants blossom and grow! Be a Marigold in your schools! Surround yourself with marigolds and minimal walnuts.
