If so, please consider joining the Gaffney Lane Neighborhood Association General Meeting on Tuesday, September 17, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Community Development Community Room at 695 Warner Parrott Rd. The Neighborhood Association has recently reactivated and is dedicated to keeping residents informed and connected. Donโt miss out on staying engaged with your community!
The Oregon City Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying these three individuals. They are persons of interest in relation to a criminal mischief incident near the Municipal Elevator on Sept. 8. You may see some wires across streets in Oregon City in a couple of weeks, as it's time for our annual traffic count. Officially known as "Traffic, Speed, Volume and Classification Studies", the City undertakes them each fall. Learn more about these studies, and see which streets will be measured this year starting the last week of Sept: orcity.news/traffic_study
Traffic studies have no impact on the flow of traffic during the test.
Officials from Oregon City, Oregon City Police Department, City of West Linn, West Linn Police Department, Clackamas Fire and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue met in the middle of the Arch Bridge today to mark the 23 anniversary of the attacks on Sept. 11, and to honor the first responders who lost their lives that day in the selfless service of others. Thank you to those who could attend.
If you're free this afternoon, this will be a chance to honor and remember those who lost their lives 23 years ago on September 11. The Arch Bridge will be closed to traffic for five minutes starting at 2 p.m. for this event. If you plan on attending, please be there prior to 2.
As we commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks, please join us on Wednesday at 2 pm for a brief ceremony on the Historic Arch Bridge between West Linn and Oregon City to remember the first responders lost in 2001 and honor those serving us today.
After a very successful ceremony on the Arch Bridge last year, we are returning for 2024. The ceremony started on the Arch Bridge in 2002, when the OC and WL mayors paused for a moment of silence in the center of the bridge, dropped a wreath, and were followed by the general public tossing their flowers.
Clackamas Fire, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, the West Linn Police Department, and the Oregon City Police Department will be in attendance along with other honored guests.
Our guests will make up an Honor Line. Elected officials from both cities will make up the two ends of the Honor Line.
Last night, 12 out of 13 Youth Advisory Commissioners took their oath of office at the first meeting of the 2024-2025 term. Huge congratulations to these passionate students! We canโt wait to see all that they will achieve in the coming 10 months.

Sure it may not feel like it at the moment, but it will soon: Fall is on the way. Colorful leaves may be beautiful, but they quickly add up, blocking storm drains and causing localized flooding during rain events. C-SweeP0 will be hitting the streets hard helping to alleviate the problem. How can you help? Check the schedule and try to have your car off the street on sweeper day. Keep you trees trimmed up so the sweeper doesn't have to go around them. If you see something that needs addressing, let us know! Call it in at 971-204-4600 or via the MYOC app.

A curious mass was discovered growing on the tether of a sample site buoy at the Clackamette Cove while conducting scheduled sampling. The mass has been affectionately named "Blobby." This harmless filter feeder is much like sea coral in that it filters the water and is delicate to the touch. The hand in the picture is for scale and they are only wearing gloves to avoid contaminating samples. If you see one of these in the water, please leave it alone and know that they are hard at work improving water quality.
