👮‍♂️ The Mobile Command Post creates a friendly space for informal chats with police officers, park safety specialists, and support staff, helping to strengthen community ties and promote safety. 🏘️ It’s an excellent opportunity for neighbors to socialize and meet with officers and police volunteers while sharing information that can drive enforcement efforts and deter crime. 👶🏿 Pasadena’s Black Infant Health (BIH) program is committed to addressing racial disparities in infant mortality and preterm birth rates among African American families. Since its inception in 1989, the BIH program has focused on providing a culturally affirming environment and honoring the unique history of African-American women. 👩🏾‍🍼

Recently, BIH has expanded its service area to cover the entire San Gabriel Valley, now offering support to Black/African American women who are at least 16 years old and either pregnant or up to six months postpartum. 🚼 The program will continue to seek funding beyond June 30, 2026, to ensure its vital services remain available. 🍼

To qualify, participants should be at least 60 years old, reside in Pasadena or nearby areas, and be cognitively healthy. The study involves a series of voluntary, non-invasive, and minimally-invasive tests, including interviews about medical history.
