Congratulations to Y. Alex Oghoorian for completing his Eagle Scout Board of Review. For his project he helped create a full sized stream table and lesson plans for The Academy for Enriched Sciences. The goal is to help teach their students about soil and water conservation. Their teachers can now easily replicate real life soil erosion scenarios for students to try and solve. We are so proud of all he has accomplished and are so excited to see another Eagle Scout join the ranks. ⚜️

On January 13th, we had the honorable Judge Gasia Apkarian come and speak to our Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts about the current situation surrounding Artsakh and the work her nonprofit organization, Center for Truth and Justice (CFTJ), has undertaken since the 2020 war.
Our scouts learned about the importance behind documenting records and evidence from Artsakh civilians and returned POW’s in order to strengthen our future claims in the legal, educational, humanitarian, and political realms. Judge Apkarian emphasized the importance of redefining what it means to identify as/be an Armenian in the diaspora by encouraging our scouts to find purpose in their personal passions and gear them towards Armenia.
Our scouts asked insightful questions about how they can diversify their roles as members of the diaspora in order to have meaningful impacts on the continuity and evolution of Armenia. Thank you Judge Apkarian for giving our scouts this great opportunity!
