After 21.5 years of service as your Alumni Director, my last day at La Salle is tomorrow, July 31st. And after 21 years on the job, I realize that I took a ton of pictures but aren’t in many of them ;) So here are just a few shots from over the last 2 decades.
I am filled with gratitude for the memories, achievements, and connections we have built together. From organizing reunions to launching initiatives that strengthened our alumni network, the shared experiences have been truly enriching. Your unwavering support, enthusiasm, and dedication to our Alma Mater have been a constant source of inspiration to me.
I am confident that the alumni community will continue to thrive and grow under new leadership. The bond we share as graduates of La Salle is unique and enduring and I am excited to see what the future holds for our community.
Thank you for allowing me to serve in this role. It has been an honor and a privilege. I look forward to staying connected as a fellow alum ([email protected]) and cheering on the continued success of our Alma Mater.
Go Lancers!
Sincerely,
Kristen Schultz ‘98

You are invited to see La Salle’s first musical production in four years- RIDE THE CYCLONE HIGH SCHOOL EDITION- an absurd dark comedy about six members of the St Cassian High School chamber choir who perish in a roller coaster accident (and that’s just in the first five minutes of this 90-minute musical). Trapped inside a purgatorial fortune telling machine, each student makes the case for why they should get another shot at life... through song! La Salle was selected to be one of the first schools in the country to produce the new High School Edition of the show, which has been carefully curated to be made suitable for teenage actors and family audiences.
La Salle’s production is a true cross-campus collaboration, and features a live student and faculty band. The show features the work of over 40 Drama, Music, and Dance Department students who have been preparing since this past November to bring this musical to life.
Ride the Cyclone High School Edition will run for 8 performances in the Grinstead Theater from Thursday, February 29th - Sunday, March 10th. Tickets are on sale now and should be reserved in advance, Please follow the link below to reserve your place on the Cyclone! Tickets will go fast! (Tix Link in bio)
A discount is being offered to alumni for the Saturday, March 2nd show at 7 PM where a Meet & Greet with Brian Drummy, La Salle’s Theatre Director, will take place following the show.
Contact the Alumni Office at 626.696.4362 or [email protected] to RSVP for March 2nd and receive the discount code.
(Please Note: Ride the Cyclone is 90 minutes long. There will be no late seating for performances. Ride the Cyclone includes mature themes and is appropriate for ages 11 and up.)
Last, but certainly not least, of our Lancer Valentines are Lynn Buennagel ‘04 and David Buennagel ‘04.
Lynn and David shared their first official date at their Junior Prom at the Long Beach Aquarium. They were married 14 years later on January 29, 2017 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Lynn is a physical therapist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and David is a research coordinator at Huntington Medical Research Institutes. They have 2 children and recently moved to La Crescenta.
Many thanks to all of our Lancer Valentines who shared their stories with us!
It may be February 15th but we are still feeling the love for our Lancer Valentines like Nick Berger ‘04 and Erin Moran ’05.
Nick and Erin had their first date in 2013 at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco and wed on October 27, 2018 in Camarillo. Nick is an Instructional Designer building VR and AR training for front-line workers and Erin does HR for a Finance Company in Pasadena. In their free time, they love going to the beach or the mountains and spending time with their two-year-old daughter, Lyla.
Happy Valentine’s Day Lancers! And a special Valentine’s wish goes out to our 62 alumni couples, especially today’s Lancer Valentine spotlight and the winners of our Amazon Gift Card raffle, Katie Olender ‘09 and Cameron Scott ‘09.
Katie and Cameron shared their first date at The View Lounge in San Francisco in March 2014 and wed in Los Olivos on April 16, 2021. They live in Long Beach with their labrador retriever, Riley. Cameron works in banking and Katie is a health & benefits consultant specializing in health equity. They love enjoying the outdoors, trying new food spots, and spending time with family and friends.
