Congratulations to Sarah Rody, Ph.D., associate professor of mathematics, whose work, "Frobenius Integrability, Automotive Blind Spots, Non-reversing Mirrors, and Panoramic Mirrors," recently won her and several colleagues the Mathematical Association of America's prestigious Paul R. Hamos - Lester R. Ford Awards.

The awards "recognize authors of articles of expository excellence published in The American Mathematical Monthly."

Dr. Rody expressed gratitude for her advisor and co-author, Andrew Hicks, professor of mathematics at Drexel University, for his collaboration and generosity in sharing educational experiences with her CHC students. "I took two of my students to see his lab over spring break and it was really lovely to show them the math we work on together," Rody said.

National Nursing Week comes to a close today, May 12, in honor of Florence Nightingale's birthday. Today is also a fitting occasion to recognize the extraordinary effort of Susan Apold, Ph.D., RN, ANP-BC, A-GNP-B, FAAN, FAANP, Director of Nursing at Chestnut Hill College.

As the country celebrates National Nurses Week, we are thrilled to announce that the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing has approved Chestnut Hill College’s application to bring both a traditional and accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to Chestnut Hill College.

The CHC Nursing Program is pending approval by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. There will be more details to share in the weeks and months ahead.

The Donning of the Kente Cloth ceremony, taking place today at 3 p.m. in the Redmond Room, allows graduating students to pay tribute to their own unique heritages, experiences, and achievements. The ceremony also presents the occasion for students to pay homage to those who have paved the way for them prior to and during their time at Chestnut Hill College.

The Kente Cloth originated in Ghana and the colors on the Chestnut Hill cloth symbolize growth, energy, wealth, and victory.

ICYMI: Last Monday, April 22nd, Chestnut Hill College staff, faculty, and students, joined with Our Mother of Consolation for a special 'Hands Across Chestnut Hill' Earth Day event. The event featured CHC student mentors showcasing the earth-centric projects they have been working on with their OMC student mentees this semester.
