βIβm excited to apply everything to the business my sister & I have together βAmbition is Agelessβ. Family is a big part of my motivation. All of my family grew up around the Philadelphia/South Jersey area, so to graduate with my Masters from a school thatβs slogan is βAmbition Canβt Waitβ located near them and apply it to a family business βAmbition Is Agelessβ, is a blessing and extremely telling. I thank God for allowing me to truly see his purpose for me throughout the years so that a family legacy & generational wealth can be passed on through the gifts heβs given me to accomplish all my goals.
The program will also help me in the nonprofit work I am continuing to do while learning about the strategies & communications. To have an understanding of the strategies of communication & how to reach more communities & families to have them participate in events & programs that are beneficial.β
Congratulations to Lauren Calleja, who will start her Masterβs in Public Health (MPH) in Global Health at Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University this Fall! πππ
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to pursue my Masterβs in Public Health from Drexel University, with the intention of specializing in Maternal and Child Health. As someone heavily involved in maternal and neonatal education and support, as a birth doula, educator, and lactation professional, I feel that we are not doing enough as a society to support those who do not have equitable access to healthcare, who do not have supportive communities, and whose access to evidence-based, empathetic care is inextricably linked to the negative social determinants of health that they face. I am excited to expand my knowledge and prepare myself for a career that fulfills my passion for health equity, health advocacy, and community education, more specifically, as it pertains to maternal and infant health, human lactation, and how public health policy and practice influence infant feeding and subsequent maternal and infant health outcomes."
Congratulations to Nekia Trammell, who will start her MS in Molecular Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine this Fall! πππ

βI am very excited to earn this degree because it will give me the opportunity to leave a positive impact on Philadelphia youth. I plan on using my degree to start a mentorship program that provides impoverished youth with life skills and the resources they need to be successful. I want to address many social issues, such as lack of positive male figures in minority households, the detrimental impact poverty has on youth, and gun violence in Philadelphia.β
