The Central Children’s Department has an extensive circulating collection and exciting programming for children ages infant-12 and their families/caregivers.
Find us on the ground floor of the Parkway Central Library! Central Children's welcomes you with weekly story times, weekend programs for the whole family, after school LEAP homework help, and of course, lots and lots of books, CDs and DVDs. Come visit us today!

Independent readers and children who are learning to read are invited to practice their reading skills with a certified therapy dog from Comfort Caring Canines today from 3:30-4:30 pm. Yes, you can pet them, too! Dogs will be accompanied by their handler during this program & each child will be assigned individual time to read to the dog.
This event will take place in the Story Hour Room, within the Children’s Department.
Space is limited; first come, first served. Independent readers and children who are learning to read will be prioritized. Our dog friends always say hello and goodbye, so every child has a chance to meet them!
