TOMORROW! Stop by and say hi!!
Hamilton Street in West Philly is having a Porch Sale this Saturday 9/7 from 9am to 4pm and we’ll be there! You can find us at 3719 Hamilton Street. We will be selling a wider range of merch than the Dollar Stroll, and as always, all proceeds will directly benefit our ongoing efforts to help West Philly cats & kittens. We hope to see you there! 😻
Sometimes taking care of the cats of West Philadelphia involves hard decisions. Recently, one of our volunteers was asked to help a gray female tabby who was dragging her back legs and struggling to get by on the street. We don’t know how long she was suffering, but people did leave food & water for her. We found Honcho huddled under a parked car, legs splayed out and not moving, but crying for help. We immediately scooped her up, and rushed her to the vet.
The vet made her comfortable and ran some tests, including an ultrasound and labs. The news was not good – it looked like she had been hit by a car and was permanently paralyzed. When the vets deemed her to be suffering without a good prognosis, we made the decision to put her to sleep peacefully and painlessly. This is one of the hardest parts of rescue, but our volunteers try to do the right thing for every cat that comes into our care – whether that be veterinary care, adoption, socialization for traumatized kitties, a “working cat” position for semi-feral cats, hospice care or letting them go.
Honcho, we hardly knew you before we had to say goodbye, but we loved you. Please join us in honoring Honcho and all the cats like her in West Philadelphia who need care by making a donation to underwrite her vet bills. (Paypal Link: https://paypal.me/ProjectMEOWPhila, Venmo: ) The volunteers and cats of Project MEOW thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts.
Rest easy, sweet girl. We won’t forget you. 🌈
West Philly! We’re here at Dollar Stroll (Baltimore Ave & 44th St, right outside of the HMS school) with lots of fun cat-themed merch starting at $1, plus a mini-plant sale, a gorgeous “It’s (Almost) Autumn” gift basket, plus lots of info on how you can help your neighborhood cats & kittens. Stop by and say hello! 😻
Zephyr was brought into a local soup kitchen after being found tied up in a plastic bag. After some time in foster care getting healthy and learning to trust people, this beauty is ready for a family of her own! Zephyr is a one year old absolutely stunning long-haired cat with the softest coat. She enjoys playing, snuggling up in the morning and squishing her body between your face and phone (perfect if you're working on reducing screen time!)
Zephyr has been living with large dogs, multiple cats and children in a high-energy household, and she takes everything in stride. To give this beauty her forever home and a second chance at a happily ever after, email us at [email protected]!
We have an “It’s (Almost) Autumn” gift basket that’s looking for its forever home during today’s Dollar Stroll! We’re asking for a donation of $1 per ticket, or $4 for 5 tickets! All of the proceeds from the donations will go to George Clooney’s medical bills, pictured. Once you’ve made your donation, please note that it’s for the gift basket and leave your name and contact info! 🍂🍁🍂

FOSTER NEEDED!
Adorable duo Moon Pie & Memphis Alden need foster placement as we are out of space! These little ones won’t take up much room.. even a spare bathroom will work! You provide the love, and we provide everything else! To foster a couple of cute kittens, please email us asap at [email protected].
Get ready to add some furry excitement to your life with Timmy & Aladdin (black/white tuxedo)! These two playful kittens are ready to find their forever home and will bring endless joy to their new family.
Timmy was found outside his foster's front door, but he's since fully recovered from his rough start and is now a happy, purring ball of energy. Aladdin, the tuxedo kitten, is just as friendly and outgoing. While they're not a bonded pair, they've become great buddies and would love to be adopted together. They're respectful of other cats and enjoy spending time with their human family, including snuggling in bed with them at night. If you're looking for two lovable kittens to complete your family, look no further than Timmy and Aladdin! Email: [email protected]
Another batch of cats are headed to PAWS for their spa days, including handsome Henry Haverford, a chill orange guy, and tiny Oakley, who slipped into a trap at the same time as another and were trapped together!
Dollar Stroll is back this Thursday, September 5th from 5-8pm, and we will once again be tabling on Baltimore Ave & 44th St, right outside of the HMS school! We will be there with info on how you can help our neighborhood cats as well as selling cat-themed items between $1-5, and $1 raffles for food, with all proceeds going to helping West Philly cats & kittens. We will also be having a mini plant sale at the table which will go towards George Clooney’s vet care.
If you’re interested in donating your handmade wares to benefit our neighborhood cats, or if you have unique cat-themed designs you’d allow us to use to make t-shirts, stickers etc… please email us at [email protected]!
See you Thursday! 😻
UPDATE on our sweet boy George. 🩶
George is home from the hospital and is hanging in there. His ultrasound revealed that it could be small cell lymphoma or he has a very bad infection in his liver and possibly other organs. The next step is an aggressive antibiotic regimen to determine if it is an infection. We are crossing our fingers, toes and paws that it will be resolved that way and George will be on his way to recovery. He’s giving foster mom a little trouble with taking his meds, but we appreciate the fight in him!
We have raised almost half of his vet bill, and we truly appreciate everyone who has supported George’s care thus far! If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please know that every penny will go to his medical costs. (Paypal Link: https://paypal.me/ProjectMEOWPhila, Venmo: ) If you’re unable to donate, please share his post and send positive thoughts & lots of love to George. Thank you always supporting West Philly cats in need! ❤️🐾
Grasshopper’s foster family saw the special bond between him and their resident pup, and it was clear they were meant to be together. Grasshopper found a forever home and a best friend in one happy package. Cheers to many joyful years ahead! 🐾❤️

George Clooney has been such a good boy during his stay at the hospital, despite that adorably grumpy face! He got an ultrasound yesterday evening to determine his weight loss and refusal to eat. We are awaiting results. Until then, he will be discharged later today and we really need someone to give him a temporary foster home to recover. If you can foster this sweet floof, please email us at [email protected].
We still have a very expensive bill ($3,200) from his hospitalization and imaging, so please consider making a donation. No amount is too small, and every penny goes directly towards his care. (Paypal Link: https://paypal.me/ProjectMEOWPhila, Venmo: )
Our volunteer has donated a handmade, gorgeous quilt, and with a donation towards George’s medical bills, you have a chance to give it a forever home! Every $5 donated will get you one chance to win this beautiful quilt… $10 will get you two chances, $20 will get you four chances and $100 will get you 20 chances.

Indoor Vermont Farm outpost denizen Sherman says it’s not supposed to be this hot in Vermont! Stay cool, wherever you might be. ☀️
When we brought the Kiwi into rescue, she had severe and chronic periodontal disease, including missing many of her teeth. Kiwi is 14 years old, so it was not a surprise that she would have dental concerns. Thanks to a grant by the Marion & Richard Graham Foundation (), we were able to get Kiwi the dental care she needed to be pain free and healthy! We are so grateful to them for allowing us to help so many cats overcome their dental issues.
Kiwi is now fully healthy, happy and ready for adoption! We are waiving our adoption fees in August, so please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet senior! [email protected]
