On this World Malaria Day, we want to highlight Project Bududa in Uganda. Our team and volunteers work hard to provide mosquito nets, medication, and education to prevent and treat malaria in the Bududa area.
Today, on Day, let us renew our commitment to building a healthier world.
At FIMRC, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right for all. Join us in our mission to improve global health one community at a time.
At FIMRC, we believe that sustainable, community-driven solutions are key to improving healthcare access and outcomes. Follow us and visit fimrc.org/costa-rica to learn more about how we work with local leaders, organizations, and volunteers in Project Alajuelita to make that a reality.

FIMRC’s nurses and midwives form the backbone of our efforts to provide health access to children and mothers in Uganda-are you a nurse, midwife or other HCP with a desire to improve community health outcomes in an underserved area? We would love to have you volunteer with us at Project Bududa! Please reach out to [email protected] if you’re interested or would like more information.

Project Alajuelita was so thrilled to host an amazing group comprised of longtime friends from International Assist Medical Missions and new friends from one of our just-founded chapters at Albion College!
We are so grateful that this dedicated group spent their holiday season with us to support the health of the Alajuelita community-what a way to kick things off for 2023!
After a long (too long!) pause, we’re so thrilled that our first volunteer in years has returned to Project Anconcito, Ecuador! Olivia has hit the ground running to help bring healthcare access to local community members.
A big shout out to our very own Estefanía, who manages Project Anconcito in Ecuador! Among so many other things, Estefy is responsible for running FIMRC’s nutrition program in the community, and without her talents and sheer superhuman willpower we don’t know where we’d be!
Did you know that on top of everything else, Dayan our Costa Rica Manager is an accomplished artist? Come volunteer at Project Alajuelita and see for yourself!
So thrilled to have our old friend Dr. Griffin from Parasites Without Borders return to Project Bududa once again! His and PWB’s support over the years has enabled our team to continue providing high quality healthcare to thousands of underserved community members and we’re always so grateful for the close relationship we’ve built over the years! Wanyaala Naabi!
Words are never enough to express our gratitude-time and time again, we are blown away by YOUR support.
Today is the day! -
Today is the perfect moment to help FIMRC provide much needed medical services for children and families in our project sites in Costa Rica, Ecuador and Uganda.
We have historically relied on donations from volunteers who travel to the site but in the past few years we have not received necessary equipment and supplies due to the pause on international trips. Your donations will go towards purchasing medical diagnostic tools, such as powder-free exam gloves and weighing scales; medical supplies, such as medicine and vitamins; as well as laptops to access the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and a projector to expand our health promotion efforts.
This also kick-off our biggest fundraising drive of the year, and it will support programming through the next year. Can we count on you to help us get to $5000?
Our field teams are constantly at work in hard-to-reach communities to provide care and education to those without access to a nearby healthcare facility. Want to join us on these outreaches in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru or Uganda? Email [email protected]!
The big picture keeps FIMRC centered! In addition to holding special consultative status with the UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs, we keep the UN's Sustainable Development Goals in mind during all we do.
Our amazing Field Ops Manager, Dayan, was recently interviewed by UNFPA about FIMRC Project Alajuelita's provision of care to refugees as part of SDG #3: good health and well-being.
Hey FIMRC family! We have a team member flying to Project Anconcito, Ecuador in a few weeks who can ferry supplies down for the nutrition program. If you have any of the below that you're willing to help with please let us know asap! Heartfelt THANK YOU in advance (and to those who have already sent supplies our way)!
The ongoing and generous support of volunteers and partners has enabled us to continue serving our communities for the past few years, including over 2000 patients at Project Bududa this past month. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Health matters to us, but we need people like you to
achieve our mission of providing access to healthcare for low-resource and medically underserved families around the world.
