On June 22nd nearly 80 teens from across Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia gathered for leadership event at the Ralph J Roberts Germantown Club. Teens took part in specialized seminars including sessions focused on E-Commerce, Podcasting, Culinary Arts, Veterinary Medicine, Sports Medicine, and First Aid and CPR. We welcomed the 1974 national youth of the Year, George Clark to share words of inspiration, and a representative from Old Navy was on-hand to share information about career opportunities. This event gave our teens a chance to elevate their voices and develop their passions. We’d like to thank all the partners who came out to support the event and the staff who worked behind the scenes to make the day a success!

On April 8, 2024, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia joined the rest of the city in watching history soar by. However, they were joined by some unusual visitors: goats!

With their protective eyewear and new friends by their side, youth delighted in watching the solar eclipse make its way across the sky before the afternoon clouds set in. Thank you to the Franklin Institute for providing eclipse viewing materials and the Philly Goat Project for sharing their furry friends!

On March 20, 2024, Founding Forward invited eight of our BGCP teens to join in Good Citizen Day at the Union League of Philadelphia. A historic event beginning in 1946, Good Citizen Day offers area teens the opportunity to share in discourse around the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and grow in their abilities as engaged community leaders. Each of our teens was recognized for the work they did and the ideas they shared, and we couldn't be prouder! Thanks to Founding Forward for putting this wonderful day together!
