BBF has given a grant to the Second Harvest of the Big Bend Food Bank to help families in Florida recover from Hurricane Debby. Second Harvest is actively responding to urgent needs in the hardest-hit communities by providing essential supplies, including ice, water, ready-to-eat-meals, dry goods and fresh produce to individuals affected by the devastating natural disaster. BBF’s grant will help the food bank meet the growing demand for services in the weeks and months ahead.

BBF recently funded a mobile health van and provided a grant for students from Ponce Health Sciences University who provided life-saving care to 39 patients in La Playa de Ponce, Puerto Rico.

From addressing uncontrolled diabetes to detecting dangerously low hemoglobin levels, they’re bridging the gap in a healthcare system that’s seen a 36% decrease in doctors. This is one of many steps BBF is taking to help support the 200,000 residents of Ponce.

Thanks to a grant from BBF Global Relief, recently funded a trip to Uganda that provided life-saving surgeries for 10 patients with congenital and rheumatic heart disease.

Led by Dr. Craig Sable from Children’s National Hospital, the team collaborated with to deliver hope and healing. Special shoutout to Mohammed and Abigail, who are now on their way to healthier futures.

BBF supported with a grant to enhance breast cancer care at Ampola Tasakhtaa Hospital in Zanzibar, Tanzania. This grant enabled the hospital to conduct a Breast Readiness Assessment and provided essential training for 37 staff members.

During the visit, 40 patients received critical breast imaging care. The remaining funds will support further training and assessments in Vietnam.

In response to the 6.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Jajarkot, Nepal, late last year, BBF Global Relief's grant to Himalayan Health Care provided makeshift shelters for 179 people and aided over 2,500 students.

Our efforts included distributing 50 family-size tents, 150 tarps, and 150 blankets. Together, we're helping rebuild lives and communities where disaster strikes.

BBF provided crucial aid to food banks in Iowa, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Texas, and Arkansas after devastating tornadoes that surfaced mostly in this last year.

With tornadoes resulting in numerous deaths and affecting tens of thousands of people, BBF's significant donations ensured timely delivery of emergency food supplies and support to the hardest-hit communities.

Each food bank benefited from BBF's funding, enabling them to respond rapidly to the increased need for food and resources during the recovery period.

Exciting news $10,000 was raised for BBF Global Relief’s ongoing Ukraine response at the Standing Against the Suppression of Expression concert last month.

Pianist Dr. Taras Filenko, alongside incredible Ukrainian artists Marta Krechkovsky, Victoria Luperi, Pauline Rovkah, and Ostap Stakhiv all took the stage at MCG Jazz in Pittsburgh. The evening combined Ukrainian music, poetry and paintings - immersing the audience in the rich art that formed out of Ukraine’s history of suppression and conflict.

BBF LAUNCHES FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR THE OKHMATDYT CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN KYIV, UKRAINE

Brother’s Brother Foundation is responding to the widespread destruction and loss of life caused by the devastating Russian missile strike on Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital.

BBF is conducting initial needs assessments and has reached out to partners on the ground to evaluate how we can most effectively support those affected by the attack. Our response will include delivering humanitarian assistance to those injured along with providing the hospital with critically needed medical equipment and supplies to help with the care of pediatric patients.

100% of funds received for BBF’s response will be used to support emergency relief and logistics. Credit card donations can be made on our website at www.brothersbrother.org by clicking on DONATIONS and choosing Ukraine Relief in the dropdown menu. This initiative, led by survivor Joyce Williams, addresses critical emotional needs, especially for uninsured patients. Our program is already making a significant impact, offering therapy and support groups to help individuals blossom beyond their diagnosis. 💖
