On 10/21, SEMS took part in the annual Wilderness EMS Day Drill!
The purpose of the drill was the help this year's Emergency Medicine Fellows practice giving medical direction in an "Austere EMS" setting.
SEMS, as well as the University of Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Residency, University of Pittsburgh Medical School students, University of Pittsburgh EMS Fellowship, and members of the Wilderness EMS community participated in the drill.
Teams were given a radio, map, and a set of coordinates and were tasked with locating patients scattered throughout Kane Woods. They then had to appropriately assess, treat, and transport the patients to an evacuation point.
