Today, we pause to remember and honor the courageous people who served and died. As we remember them, we hold space for the children and families who carry their legacy forward.

Congratulations, Class of 2024! Journey of Hope commends all your hard work, and we are rooting for your bright futures. For most teens, graduation is a day of fun, joy, and appreciation, but for those experiencing grief, graduation day can be filled with many different emotions: joy, love, sadness, overwhelm, and heartbreak. All of your emotions and thoughts are ok and valid, even if they seem conflicting. We encourage you and your family to take things slow and create space for flexibility during your celebrations.

How are you remembering your person during graduation season?

At Journey of Hope, we read A LOT of books! Books help children make meaning from their experiences, and reading stories helps them to know that they are not alone in their grief feelings.

Today we attended a Mental Health Fair at ! Students wrote their stresses and worries on dissolving paper and placed it in a bubble solution. As they blow bubbles, they imagined releasing those worries and allowing peace and calm to enter 💜💜

Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, our school-based program provided supplies to more than 47 schools across 14 North Texas school districts running in-school peer grief groups! Next year, we hope to support more than 100 schools leading peer grief groups!
