Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial s*x act. It happens in every state, in all types of communities, to children and adults.

Our team at the CPCA is part of the Dutchess County Taskforce Against Human Trafficking, a group of professionals dedicated to preventing human trafficking by working together to raise awareness, identify victims, and provide comprehensive services.

The judging of our 🎄🎁❄️ Holiday Decoration Throwdown commenced today. The elves from CPCA and CPS have been flexing their creativity all month creating spaces of joy and wonder, and today we had members of the community come in to judge them based on theme, creativity, DIY elements, and overall experience. Thank you to Rob Rolison, Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, Hudson River Truck & Trailer, and board member Steve Caswell for Dutchess County Legislature for touring and appreciating the imaginative spaces. Stay tuned for winners!

We truly love having the opportunity to give tours to our supporters. It is a moment where the connection is made with our programs—prevention, support, education, and advocacy—and how they all work hand in hand to end child abuse and the lasting effects it has.

We appreciate Paul from Axis Insurance Services, LLC for taking the time to learn more about our work yesterday (and judge our 🎄❄Holiday Decoration Throwdown—more pics on that to come).

Yesterday, we welcomed Mary Jones and Desmond Murray from Marist College Career Services. It was a wonderful opportunity to share with them how impactful Marist has been to our organization.

Not only do we get great interns each semester, but several alumni who work here currently started out as interns. We can't thank them enough for stopping by for a tour and to learn more about our programming.

The CPCA was busy yesterday with some holiday visits! We are so grateful for all of the gifts and donations to make the holidays for the families and children we serve a little more joyful! Thank you Fit Social, H**e Med Spa, Dutchess County Public Transit, Robin Walton and family, and Marty for your generosity!

Last week, our Executive Director Marco Ingoglia attended the NAPMW - Hudson Valley Annual Holiday Party. Thank you to the NAPMW Hudson Valley Chapter for collecting child friendly snacks, toys and hygiene products for the children and families we serve.

Our day is a little merrier and brighter thanks to the over 200 colorful stuffed animals that were donated to Petro Home Services teddy bear drive to benefit the children who come through our Child Advocacy Center.

We were also excited to show Jill Feller some updates to our food pantry thanks to her and Through Dylan’s Eyes - Dylan Feller Memorial Foundation support.

Yesterday, we joined New York State Children's Alliance, Inc. and New York State Association for Rural Health to advocate against cuts to the NYS Office of Victim Services—a significant funding stream that many CACs around the nation rely on. Representatives from Rob Rolison, Didi Barrett, and James Skoufis office were in attendance.

Already starting to make plans✍️ for 2024 with Exchange Club of Dutchess County after their holiday party last night. We are looking forward to aligning our missions and initiatives to protect children and keep them safe in the new year.

A big thank you to Steve Domber of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hudson Valley Properties for providing coats once again to our clients who are in need of cold weather gear for winter.

One of our case managers was able to deliver a coat to a client who couldn’t remember the last time they had one. Thank you again for providing such a valuable gift.💙

Grateful to our intern Olivia and Marist College Dance Ensemble for once again going above and beyond for children in our community by running a food drive outside of Stop & Shop to help fill our food pantry.

Wow! We are so blown away from the support of the WKZE 98.1 FM - Celebrating Musical Diversity family! Thank you for creating such a celebratory holiday event at the Live at The Falcon with great music.

We cannot wait to see the smiling faces on kids from the generous toys and gifts everyone donated. Thank you for all your dedicated support each year!

Completing our Supportive Parenting Program is no easy feat and requires continual dedication to showing up day after day. Six months of hard work go into learning new skills in parenting and we are so proud of the 8 graduates who received their certificates today in a ceremony held at Marist College Cornell Boathouse.

Congratulations to them and thank you to Amanda Watson from Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services for speaking and all of our interns for their support.

Kicking off the season of giving with a little gift for staff to thank them for their hard work!

Our Executive Director, Marco, along with Ashley Spinelli and a few other volunteers selected holiday gifts for children we serve at the Greater Hudson Valley Toy Drive 🧸 hosted by Q92 at the Poughkeepsie Galleria this past Saturday.

Thank you for inviting us to be a part of this great event and to the students at Roy C Ketcham Senior High School for helping us load our cars with gifts.

The spirit of the holidays are here! We are so appreciative to Wallkill Correctional Facility who adopted families for the holidays and stopped by our office earlier this week to drop off gifts. Thank you for your generosity!

We had the pleasure of celebrating our Senior Director of Development, Rachel Johnson, and 8 other incredible women last night at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Athena Leadership Awards. Their extraordinary leadership and accomplishments left us all feeling inspired to lift up others just as they have.
