Meet Mr. Chris Davis
He’s been a member for 20 years at FBCPS.
18 years of that time has been with kids between preschool, children and youth. He currently serves in the Treehouse with technology, helps in the Backyard and GAP with that as well when needed, troubleshoots our check-in system, referees Upward games, and supports every big event we have and smiles all the way through it.
His favorite thing about working with kids is seeing them being able to have fun while learning about Jesus.
Fun fact - he ran a 10k race in London, England. 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
And, I’ll add that he is loving Pickleball!
Thank you, Mr. Chris for your servant spirit and being so involved in many areas of ministry. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
We had some real artists at church tonight, and Carlina the Unicorn waited out in the hallway ☺️
Spring has sprung in the Treehouse! Mrs. Kelly and her decorating family have done an amazing job just as Mrs. Donna has done in the Backyard.
Tonight at Kidventure a mom said she heard her girls screaming and thought maybe something was wrong. Wound up it was just their reaction to the transformation 😂🌸🌼🌺🐜🐰🐥🧺🍇🪁stop by and see either of our kids worship spaces and you’ll love it! We will have something new to see in the GAP room soon!

Meet Mrs. Sandy McClure. Here is a little about herself:
She was on the Cradle Roll at FBCPS. She and her family moved away for about 10 years- returned when my baby was in the nursery.
She has taught in Children or Preschool about 25 years. Currently she is teaching 2nd grade on Sunday morning, and helps lead Bible Drill on Wednesday evening. There are so many things she loves about teaching children, but the thing she loves the most is seeing one of our kids make a public profession of their faith in Jesus.
Fun Fact- She has written 3 Children’s books ❤️❤️❤️❤️ she is an accomplished and published author!
Her books are:
Things I Ponder
The Chipmunk Family Odyssey
Jack and the Creekside Miracle
Thank you, Mrs. Sandy!
Good Morning! It’s a beautiful Saturday with no rain!
We have been working hard to get the Backyard, Treehouse and GAP ready for our new worship units that start tomorrow. In the Backyard our preschoolers will begin the series Playtime Theater, where they will interact and help tell the Bible story. In the Treehouse and GAP, the kids will begin Shake It Up. There will be clues to unwrap to help with the story and a great video to reinforce the days’ lesson. All 3 groups will have brand new music to enjoy as well. We hope to see you there!
Kidventure is back in business tomorrow night after mid-winter break, and it’s PJ night! Tell your friends and come join us!
We’ve got some FUN headed our way!
*March 14 - Road Crew Rally for Winshape Camp which is July 10-14. If you attend the rally, you’ll receive $50 off of your registration. Winshape will be on-site with games, snacks, and swag!
* March 26- Hangin’ with my peeps Spring Thing! This event is 4:00-6:00 in the CLC. We will celebrate all things spring and Easter, plus get registered for VBS, Summer Camp and enter a drawing for a $100 scholarship for Winshape.
Hope to see you at both of these events!
Happy Saturday! Hope to see everyone tomorrow at First Baptist Church Powder Springs! It’s the end of mid-winter break and Upward Basketball and Cheerleading. To celebrate that we are having NBA day, which is NoBody Absent. I’d love to see all of you in your Connection Groups and Backyard Worship.
Also, it is 4th Sunday Family Worship tomorrow for the Treehouse and GAP kids. Worship bags are in the sanctuary foyer on the North Avenue side for the 9:30 service, and in the CLC lobby near the front desk area for the 11:00 service. You may keep the goodies in the bag but please return the bag to their location.
See y’all tomorrow!
Reminder that there are no activities for children tonight at First Baptist Church Powder Springs. I hope you are enjoying your time off from school and getting some much needed rest and relaxation.
Also, this Sunday is the 4th Sunday of the month, so it’s Family Worship Day. There will be no Treehouse or GAP worship at 11:00, but a class will be available at that time for those who attend the 9:30 worship service. This is held in the GAP classroom.
Enjoy your Wednesday!
Wow! Tonight was full of kids and fun. The Backyard kids learned the sweetest song and learned to spell God Loves Us, while singing. Some even cooked some pizza while in childcare. They were so cute! The Treehouse kids learned Bible skills, played the Orffs, shopped and bargained, and some even saved points for next time. I was amused at watching the kids try and get the most for their money and as one said, “I’m trying to stay under budget.” ❤️😂
We hope to see all of our friends tonight at Kidventure!
We have Music and Mission Friends for the Backyard Kids, 6:15-7:45.
It is store night for our Treehouse kids, 7:00-7:45. Come cash in your points you’ve earned the last two months and take home some great prizes. Don’t forget about choir at 6:15, and Bible Drill at 5:30 for those participating.
*Important note* We will not meet next Wednesday, February 22, due to Winter Break.
See you soon!

Meet Miss Emily Davis!
She has attended FBCPS for 20 years and has been teaching for 6 years, she thinks 😉 most of those teaching years have been spent in preschool, but last week she kicked off our new worship hour for 4th and 5th graders. It had been a prayer of mine since last August for the Lord to show me or lead me to who could provide this special time for our older kids. About six weeks ago, Emily came to me and said she felt like she needed something new and wanted to move to the children’s area. When I told of her my desire for 4th and 5th graders, she jumped at the opportunity! She’s full of excitement!
Her favorite thing about teaching is building relationships and making personal connections with the kids. “I want every single child to feel like they belong in whatever room they walk into, so that they always want to come back to a place that feels welcoming!”
A Fun Fact is that she is a big sports fan! She loves Tennessee Football and Braves Baseball. She also played basketball in middle school.
Thank you, Emily!
Tonight was F-U-N!! Pajamarama was a hit. Dinner, snacks, box cars and a movie with your best little friends. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this possible!
Mr. Robbie helps us on Wednesday nights at Kidventure in the Treehouse. He has as much fun as the kids do!
Mrs. Donna, Mrs. Kelly and I have spent the last two days at the Winshape Host Rally in Peachtree City. We have learned so much! It has been very informative and engaging, and our speakers and worship leaders have been excellent. The workshops are preparing us for a very fun week of camp.
Many details have already been put in place for our Winshape Camp at Praise Academy, July 10-14. Registration begins on March 6. We will have the Winshape Road Crew at Praise on March 14 from 3:00-6:00. You can register on this day, have a blast with the Winshape staff with fun games and jumpies, and get alllllll the info you’ll need for camp.
We are blown away by this rally that will end tomorrow afternoon. We look forward to sharing this week with our church, community and the Winshape staff. We’ve already met our Camp Director and it’s been an instant connection. Stay tuned for more details in the next couple of weeks.

Meet Mr. Doug and Mrs. Denise Cash
They have been at FBCPS for 21 years and have taught for 19 of those years. With service years prior to FBCPS they have a total of more than 35 years teaching Sunday School to preschoolers!
Their favorite thing about teaching...
“Teaching our children about the love that Jesus has for them. Also to see the biggest smile on a child's face when they can recall the lesson for that day by answering the bonus question to receive a prize (candy).”
Fun Fact...
Mr. Doug is the biggest kid in the classroom. 😂
I can vouch for that and wouldn’t have it any other way. I had a mom recently tell me that Mr. Doug and Mrs. Denise are a big reason her family has joined our church. Their outreach with keeping up with her family was something they’d never experienced anywhere else before. You can always expect a text or an email from them if your child is absent letting you know that your child was missed. They are so faithful to our 3’s and PreK children and their families.
Thank you, Mr. Doug and Mrs. Denise ❤️
Our Treehouse is amongst some of the best facilities I’ve seen for elementary kids in a church setting. We are so blessed to have this space that allows kids to play, sing, worship and spend time with friends each week while learning about Jesus and his love for them ❤️
One week from tonight! We’ll provide the fun, snacks and memories. Hope to see you there!
