Last night was another one for the books. Congratulations to A.C. Green, Marshall Faulk, Scott Boras, Andrew D. Bernstein, and Rodney Peete for being inducted into the California Sports Hall of Fame. These inductees were chosen not only for their outstanding performance in their respective fields, but also for the impact they have had on the youth in their communities.

The son of a Sacramento dairy farmer, with a passion for baseball and a desire to become a legal department employee for a pharmaceutical company, the career of Scott Boras eventually took the path of becoming the most successful sports agent in baseball history, and one of the most accomplished within the overall sports industry. Rodney Peete is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League. He played college football for the USC Trojans, earning first-team All-American honors in 1988. Peete was selected in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, and Carolina Panthers. A.C. Green, known as the NBA’s Iron Man, spent 16 seasons in the NBA and won three championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Having played in 1,192 straight games, A.C. is the only player in Laker history to win championships in both the “Fabulous” Forum and Staples Center.

Outside of basketball, A.C.’s heart is dedicated to working with youth. In 1989, he established the A.C. Green Youth Foundation with the mission of helping young people build self-esteem and character while teaching them moral and ethical principles that will help them make responsible decisions.

Marshall William Faulk is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League for 13 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time.

Faulk played college football for the San Diego State Aztecs, with whom he was a two-time unanimous All-American. He was selected by the Colts as the second overall pick in the 1994 NFL draft; he was with the Colts for five seasons and played the last eight seasons of his career with the Rams. He was a member of the Greatest Show on Turf, a name given to the St. Louis Rams team that appeared in two Super Bowls and won Super Bowl # # . In 2000, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the NFL.

Faulk is one of only three NFL players to reach at least 10,000 rushing yards and 5,000 receiving yards, and the only one to amass 12,000 yards rushing and 6,000 yards receiving. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017. The unique personal rapport Bernstein has developed with athletes, coaches, and teams over the years allows him exclusive access to special behind-the-scenes moments. A co-founder of NBA Photos, Bernstein is the key photographic contributor to NBA Entertainment’s global media platforms, which include NBA dot com, All League Publications, and NBA-licensed products. He has been the team photographer for twelve professional home teams that won championships in basketball (Lakers in 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2020), baseball (Dodgers in 1988), and hockey (Kings in 2012 and 2014). Bernstein has covered 40 NBA Finals and 38 All-Star Games as the senior NBA photographer. Andrew will be inducted into the California Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, June 30th at the Ontario Convention Center.
