Get there early, and bring your dancin' shoes!
This groovy day was created to help encourage Americans to enjoy the art of movement, as a creative outlet to promote a healthy lifestyle. Hitting the dance floor is not only an artistic outlet, but helps to improve muscle tone, bone density, balance, flexibility, and strength. "National Dance Day" was officially launched in 2010, by dance fans — both politicos and dance superstars.
Dance is a great way to improve both emotional and mental health as well. Staying active on a consistent basis is a great way to release tension, stress, build muscle, and be in an all-around better mood. Every aspect of our health is interconnected. Health is wealth, and we all need that currency.
This Sunday, September 22, The Note Ables will perform as part of the 2024 "Fiesta on Wells"!
The Note-Ables are a group of professional musicians who shatter the stereotype that people with disabilities have limited talents and abilities. The group first met in April 1999 when they started jamming and writing their own songs together. In addition to being professional and crowd pleasing, the group’s activities have also increased the visibility of people with disabilities and added to the dynamic arts community in the Truckee Meadows.
Make plans to join us at 1:15pm near the corner of South Wells Avenue and East Taylor Street for great music, fun and a few surprises!

National Day of Encouragement is dedicated to encouraging and having a positive impact on those around us. The best thing about this day is that you can make someone happy by simply saying a few words of encouragement. Your words have the power to lift someone when they are down. They also have the power to motivate someone who might be struggling or encourage someone to pick themselves back up after a setback. A small act of encouragement could be the spark that changes a loved one’s perspective.
