Academy training is designed to help ensure that nonprofits of all sizes are prepared to apply for, receive, and manage Riverside County and other grant funding. Jennie E. has been an integral part of Inland SoCal United Way 211+ for three years. Serving as a Community Health Worker, she delivers Bilingual Su***de Prevention Education in rural and isolated areas throughout the region.

Jennie is dedicated to providing culturally appropriate and evidence-based health education, whether it be in a public setting or a place of worship. Her primary focus is on combating the stigma surrounding mental health in marginalized communities.

Being the first in her immediate family to graduate from a four-year university, Jennie's achievement is a source of pride, especially for her late mother, her strongest supporter. Despite facing the loss of her stepmother in December while juggling a full-time job and raising two daughters as a single parent, Jennie's commitment and resilience shone through, culminating in her earning a B.A. in Psychology from Cal State San Bernardino.

Kimberly Starrs, Inland SoCal United Way CEO/President, stated "Jennie's degree is a real testament to her dedication and strength of character".
