Today and every day, we honor the memory of those who tragically lost their lives 23 years ago. We remember the individuals in the towers of New York, those at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the courageous passengers who boarded flights that fateful morning, unaware of the events that would unfold. We honor the first responders who rushed into danger, the ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage, and the families who have carried the weight of their loss with grace and resilience. Thank you to those who stood united in the aftermath of the attack and persistently served their communities thereafter. Let us never forget. 09/11/01.

RSA Staff Update 🌟
Riverside Sheriffs’ Association President Bill Young announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed a new executive director, Captain Evan Petersen, to replace retiring executive director Dave Brown.
Captain Petersen has served the Riverside Sheriff’s Office for over 28 years and most recently held command positions at the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station, Ben Clark Training Center, and the Special Investigations Bureau.
Petersen will replace outgoing executive director Dave Brown who announced his retirement in early May after 35 years of public service including many years as a police chief and director of public safety. Asked about his time with RSA, Brown stated, “My greatest joy has been working with the amazing team at RSA to serve the members of the Association. I’m confident that the membership will be well-served under the continued leadership of President Bill Young, the Board of Directors, and Executive Director Evan Petersen.”

This week RSA traveled to Washington D.C. for Police Week to attend the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial, and candlelight vigil, in support of two of our surviving families as their loved ones were added to the memorial wall. Deputy Darnell Calhoun and Deputy Brett Harris.

The loss of a law enforcement officer is felt at the family level, as well as the department. Coworkers become family members and share the best and worst days of their lives together. RSA was honored to have Deputy Calhoun’s Lake Elsinore station partners in attendance to help us honor both deputies and their families. Thank you to all of you for coming together to honor your brother’s in uniform and pay your respects.
