We offer private lessons for ALL ages and ALL abilities in piano, guitar, bass (electric, upright and double), drums, cello, violin, beginning fiddle, trumpet, trombone, voice, songwriting, improvisation, ukulele and more! This year's ensembles include a beginning strings group, teen rock band, jazz ensemble, girls rock and more!

Join us for mixed-age early childhood music and movement classes: in our Rockport studio on Wednesday morning, Friday afternoon, or Saturday morning... or at Waterfall Arts in Belfast on Tuesday morning!

It's the perfect beginning to your little one's musical journey - and a fantastic way to meet a new community of friends! For children ages 0-5 and the grownups who love them. Tuition assistance available.

Welcome the newest member of MCMA faculty: Amelia Campbell! Amelia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in voice and has an extensive performance history. She is an experienced instructor to students of all ages – and she’ll be teaching voice, piano, and beginning guitar at MCMA. Amelia possesses a remarkable philosophy of music education; her pedagogical approach is rooted in a commitment to preserving and passing on the unifying powers of music. Additionally, she completed coursework at Colorado School of Lutherie – and constructed her own six-string guitar. A recent addition to Maine (hailing from Colorado), MCMA is thrilled to have Amelia as part of our community! Newsflash! MCMA has a new addition to our drum faculty, joining Tom Ulichny... Welcome Jeff Densmore! Jeff considers music his life-time calling. In 1979, he studied music at UMaine Augusta and from then on has played drums in many different settings and all genres - from country to jazz and theater to gospel. He's studied drum set and congas at Drummer Collective in NYC, and he's traveled to Guinea for an intensive drum and dance course. Currently, Jeff plays hand drums with an acoustic trio called Cafe Dayz and kit with the Belfast-based The Hot Suppers Band. Presenting Abbie, Addie, August, Caroline, Orion & Poet: MCMA's gig campers for 2024! Led by MCMA instructors Khaya Cohen and Tom Luther, these young musicians dove deep into what it means to form a band, prepare a set, perform in a professional venue (thank you Maine Lobster Festival!) with a sound crew, create their own gig (thank you Rockport Public Library!), pack and set up gear, keep the crowd engaged, reflect on their performance, write & perform an original song and have a blast doing it! We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with this kind, dedicated, funny group of awesome kids. Masters O' Disasters rock!

Masters O' Disasters (MCMA's Gig Camp Band) nailed it at the Maine Lobster Festival today! Thank you to everyone who was able to come and cheer them on.

Check out these photos from last month's late night jazz jam! Produced in partnership with Jazz In June Camden ME and led by bandmates of the late Eric Davis, it was a fantastic way to honor Eric's memory and celebrate all things jazz.

Eric Davis was a prolific and beloved figure on the midcoast jazz scene for many years. Eric passed away in 2019, but ensured through the establishment and endowment of his fund that a legacy of jazz study and performance would continue throughout the area. Each year since its inception, the Eric Davis Jazz Fund has sponsored MCMA's Jazz Intensive Camp, allowing young music students who could not otherwise attend to take part.

The faces of our 2024 ! Day 2 was … intense! Mark Power kicked off the day with vocal work that expanded everyone’s minds and we jumped right into detail work. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the fruits of their labors at the North Atlantic Blues Festival on Sunday 7/14!

Announcing yet another phenomenal MCMA summer program, courtesy of MCMA instructor and music therapist Daniel Wenger... join Dan for MINDFUL DRUMMING: a 4-week group drumming and mindfulness program for adults (Wed evenings, starting July 31st). The focus of this group is active, shared music-making. Together, participants will explore different grooves, take turns leading call-and-response rhythms, and engage in mindful breathing, listening, and reflection. No drumming experience required!
