This place is so much fun! We visited the The Buckhorn Saloon and Museum today and learned so much. It was founded by Mr. Albert Friedrich in 1896. He amassed his collection of mounts and horns and even swapped a drink to anyone who brought in a set of horns to be displayed. It is a terrific window into the early years of San Antonio history. We highly recommend!

This is exciting! Our friends at the Tower of the Americas have announced the date for their second annual Tequila and Tacos Festival. It will be October 19th from 6-9pm. They will have incredible Tequila and Mezcal cocktails, gourmet Tacos, live music, and much more. This is such a fun event!

A poptail in the sunroom at the beautiful Hotel Valencia Riverwalk is the perfect way to end the week. Their Dorrego's Restaurant and Naranja Tequila and Mezcal Bar are wonderful places to visit. Conveniently, customers receive complimentary valet parking when going there!

The Stargazer sculpture sits just outside of the Rivercenter Lagoon and was designed by Artist Pedro Reyes. It depicts a woman gazing upon a star she holds in her right hand. It is one of several public art pieces you will see when you explore the river. The sculpture is over 16 feet tall and very cool to see!

This is so fun! Our friends at Go Rio Cruises and Mission Kayak are offering kayaking in the downtown section of the Riverwalk on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1:30pm - 2:45pm. Dates are available the rest of July and into August. Kayak right past your favorite hotels, restaurants and shops. It is so cool! Big thanks to the City of San Antonio, Go Rio and the San Antonio River Authority for helping make this happen!

Another fun weekend of kayaking on the Riverwalk is coming up with our friends at Mission Kayak. They have kayaking in the Museum Reach section of the river on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9am to 1pm. Reservations are recommended. It is so much fun!

The Alamo has opened up their new exhibit, the Mission Gate and Lunette. Located on the southwest corner of the grounds, it represents the old main gate of the historic mission fort. It has a number of exhibits inside that are quite fascinating to read. Be sure and get a look at it next time you are in town!
