Mother's Day in the United States is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday of May each year. This holiday is observed as a recognition of mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general, as well as the positive contributions that they make to society.

Mothers' Day (El Dia de la Madre) is a popular celebration for mothers and mother figures across Mexico on May 10. It is a time to give moms their due, to gather together with family and to honor the huge role mothers play.

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5 to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.

May 4 is often known as "Star Wars Day". It is jokingly said: "May the 4th be with you", in reference to the popular phrase in Star Wars: "May the Force be with you." It is a day dedicated to the celebration of the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas in 1977.
