Many fund managers have allowed ideological considerations to override that. "Sustainable responsible" investing is ideological. Don't kid yourselves into thinking that in this area you can do well by doing good. Fortunately, these activities are being monitored:

AAII received a request from a Wall Street Journal reporter that may be of interest to you. A reporter at The Wall Street Journal is writing about retirees who manage their own money and either day trade or trade frequently. This could be someone who sits at a desk all day monitoring the markets and trading. Or it could be someone who checks the markets for an hour or so and periodically makes adjustments to his or her investments, but doesn't focus on trading all day. It could also be someone who has a buy-and-hold portfolio but enjoys trading some portion of their money on the side for fun. Anyone who is interested and is OK with seeing their name in the newspaper should contact Anne Tergesen at [email protected] by June 6. Please let the reporter know that you are an AAII member.
