Are you passionate about making a difference for military personnel and their families? We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Coordinator to join our team. Under the guidance of the Program Director, you'll manage front desk operations and oversee a variety of impactful programs.

Key Responsibilities:

🏢 Manage front desk operations, including phone handling and assisting walk-ins.
📅 Plan, organize, and supervise program activities in Recreation Therapy, Urgent Needs, Family & Youth Enrichment, and Support & Appreciation.
🤝 Collaborate with various departments to ensure program success and compliance with military standards.
💼 Develop budgets, SOPs, and evaluation frameworks to assess and improve programs.
👥 Work closely with volunteers, program participants, and community partners.

What We’re Looking For:

💪 Strong organizational and leadership skills.
📊 Experience in program management and strategic planning.
🌐 Ability to work effectively with military and civilian organizations.
🕒 Availability for occasional evening and weekend work for special events.
💻 Access to base or willingness to undergo a background check.

For the third year in a row USAA graciously hosted the Armed Services YMCA San Diego at the San Diego Padres' Lil MVP Padres Camp! This was an incredible event that taught 50 of our children the love and technique of baseball. They also had the chance to meet and chat with professional ball players, Kyle Higashioka and Stephen Kolek and some even met the new no-hitter Dylan Cease. Thank you USAA for providing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Go Padres!

Back to School Bash is coming up on Saturday August 3rd, and we could not hold an event for more than 500 children without the support of several generous community partners. We would like to thank American Legion Post 6 - San Diego for providing 250 backpacks filled with school supplies to be distributed to military children at the event. An extra thank you to Frank Manthei for his leadership on the backpack drive!

Summer moves can be particularly challenging for military families with young children due to moving duty stations, disruptions to school routines and social connections. Armed Services YMCA San Diego looks forward to helping local military families create a village and network of support, in conjunction with our friends and partners.
