Through play children are developing:

Happy Earth Day 🌎
We talked about how we can do our part protecting our Earth. Some answers were picking up trash, turning off the water, recycling, and turning off lights.
After looking at a globe, we talked about what the Earth is made up. Below is a photo of that discussion. Water = blue, trees/ forest = green and dirt = brown

Math is everywhere, even in Chapel! ⛪️ Pastor Geoff measured some of the children to see who measured closest to 36”.
Another common place that has math for children is the grocery store. Ask your child to pick out two red apples and two green apples. Then add up how many apples in total you have. Have your child weigh out vegetables or fruit. Counting how many groceries you have in your shopping cart is math.
You can do math while riding in a car. Counting how many white cars or your favorite color car you see. While stopped at a traffic light, count how many circles there are. Count how many stop signs you drive past.
We all use math! From driving, shopping, cooking, and cleaning up. Include your child while you’re doing these activities to teach your child math is all around them!
