Founded in 1973 as a non-profit teacher cooperative school. We are a TK-8 school with 190 students.
Synergy’s Book Swap was a great success with so many books to choose from. Many thanks to Susanne DeRisi and the Library Committee for putting on this event.

Synergy students in the Sun Room and other grades observed and learned about the partial solar eclipse today at school.
Celebrating Nowruz, the Persian New Year! Students learned about the celebration in library classes, Rainbow Room made 2D hyacinths in Art class and students enjoyed new year treats. Thank you Behnam Vadi (Aura’s dad) for setting up a beautiful Haft-Sin in the front hall.

Bennett, a 3rd grader who has a feeding tube (Gtube) gave a presentation today to support Feeding Awareness Week. He read a book, then showed how tube feeding is done using his stuffed bear. Bennett also handed out stickers and bracelets to students. One thing special to note: Bennett is getting his tube out this year!
Middle School and 4th & 5th graders did a great job sharing their Science Fair projects with students today.
The Holiday Book Exchange took place today. Students, teachers, and staff exchanged books with their secret friend.
4th and 5th graders made covers for their poetry book anthologies. They used shaving cream and food dyes to create them.

Synergy Girl Scouts held a bake sale to raise money to buy holiday gifts for children experiencing homelessness and living shelters. They are partnering with Urban Angels S.F. to help in the effort to grant gifts to 10 children in need.

Celebrating 50 years, Synergy hosted Founder’s Day honoring visiting co-founders Russ Messing, Katherine Czesak, and Jill Goffstein Stocks, as well as Arlene Naschke and Elena Dillion. It was a wonderful all-school event including performances, stories, a slideshow, interviews, remembering history and farm school.

The Synergy Diversity Dinner had lots of delicious food. Many thanks to the all the volunteers for helping with the event.

Bennett & his mom, Beth led an art class with the Sun Room. They made 3-D creatures/objects with felt, foam & glue guns.
Great volleyball games- JV won against CAIS. Varsity had very close game but CAIS won.
The Star Room has been studying & observing leaves in their unit about trees. They collected various ones and made leaf books.
Congratulations to the Synergy Cross Country Team for a very successful meet at the Polo Field/Hellman Hollow in Golden Gate Park. All the Synergy runners had a strong showing, with Koty placing 1st place, Raini & Maya 2nd and Cian 1st in his age group. Go Wolves!
The Rainbow Room wore orange on Unity Day to support the cause that “we are better united than divided”! It is an event that takes place during October for National Bullying Prevention Month. Unity Day supports kindness, courage and inclusion.
4th and 5th graders are doing service learning with Refuse Refuse. The students are walking around the neighborhood with grabbers and trash bags picking up trash.
First Buddy Time! Students met their buddies and then read and wrote about each other.
