We’re so proud of our students who excel as both scholars and athletes. This weekend, 12 Zion Mathletes competed in the Golden Gate chapter MathCOUNTS competition with over 120 other student from 20 other public and private schools. Two Zion student distinguished themselves by placing in the “Top 40” list. Also, Congratulations to two 8th grade students who were selected to represent Zion this weekend - fantastic modeling of the Zion student! One was at CYO’s 8th grade All-Star Game (Boys’ basketball) and the other at the Bay Area Scripps Regional Spelling Bee (representing SF). Congratulations all! 👏✖️➗➕➖🔤🏀
Thanks for a great season, Boys’ basketball! You respected the game and each other. 8th graders - we’ll miss you & wish you well for the future! 5th & 7th grade - Yay! to making it to playoffs! 4th grade - the loudest game all season up until that last buzzer! 3rd grade - what a welcome to your first B-ball season! 🏀💚🦁

The season of Advent, the weeks before Christmas, is a time of reflection in anticipation of the celebration of the Christ Child’s birth. Our Angel Voices choir began week 1 of Advent in an original musical offering “The Spirit of Christmas Presents”. Please join us for week 2 (12/13) and week 3 (12/20)
The SF Opera Guild education programs work with students to develop self-expression and engage them with classic opera pieces. Our students performed an abbreviated version of the comedic opera “The Elixir of Love” to our school community alongside professional singers.
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse which collects shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world. “The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.” Thank you, Zion community, for blessing 165 children with gift boxes this Christmas!

Ready for their first outdoor education trip to Gold Country! Today is presentation day. OE is a fantastic way to extend the learning environment outside of the classroom. In this case, our students will be heading to a historic town to experience, learn, and further understand the California Gold Rush.
