Do you think you have what it takes to be the next culinary star?
Dan Chan Presents is looking for the next culinary star. Bay Area Dinner Show has been hosting his magic, and dinner shows as pop-up experiences for Silicon Valley's Elite.
We are looking for chefs and restaurant consultants who can create a themed meal based on the magic effects Dan performs.
To be considered for this opportunity, send us a cover letter or a link to a video introduction, social media links, and photos of your past creations. The ideal candidate for this job can produce food illusions, foods that look like other foods, and other foods that are so compelling that they garner likes on social media. You will be required to head your own test kitchen and create dishes based on the below magic routines for our Instagram page. This is a part-time position with the possibility to expand into full-time work. The starting pay is $100.00 per Instagram post or $250.00 for each Youtube project, to be filmed by Dan's film crew plus reimbursement for food cost.
The three-shell game is a classic hustle where three walnuts are mixed with a pea under one of the shells. The spectator tries to find which shell has the pea. After the presentation candied walnuts, and peas top our first course of salad.
After changing silk into an egg, Dan explains that the egg is hollow and the silk is inside. He then repeats the effect to show precisely how it was done. However, this time the egg is a real one, and the silk has vanished!
Followed by an Asian-inspired steamed egg, chawanmushi or sous vide egg.
Dan magically produces a dove, then serving farm-to-table dove to our guests.
Do you have what it takes to be the next culinary star? Do you dream of being in being the next Thomas Kellar, Ferran Adria or Grant Achatz?

I'm a member of the Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA. An exclusive magic club tucked behind a secret entrance, one that opens once you say the magic words. Behind the hidden entrance is a club filled with multiple rooms of various sizes in which to experience the magic, fabulous dining, and eccentric group of members some of whom are magicians, celebrities, influencers, and businessmen.
For the longest time, I've explored the idea of open a similarly modeled club in the Bay Area. Now is the time to taking this further concept further. If you are interested in learning more let's open up the dialogue and discuss it.
